  • Publication number: 20020165518
Abstract: A convertible pant-like, prefastened, disposable absorbent article having a back waist region and a front waist region forming a waist opening and two leg regions each forming a leg opening. A ratio of an elastic tension of the back waist region to an elastic tension of each of the leg region is at least about 0.6. Thus, the convertible pant-like, prefastened disposable absorbent article of the present invention is effective in reducing undesired leakage when it is applied to the wearer in a manner similar to a conventional training pant rather than a conventional diaper article.

  • Publication number: 20020165516
Abstract: A disposable absorbent article is provided which includes a substantially liquid-impermeable, stretchable outer cover, a liquid permeable, stretchable top surface, and an absorbent body located between the outer cover and the top surface. The stretchable top surface can further include a first zone and a second zone. The stretchable outer cover can be configured to provide a first level of elongation when subjected to a tensile force of 100 gmf per inch (per 2.54 cm) of width according to the Material Elongation and Deformation Tensile Test set forth herein, while the first zone provides a second level of elongation that is less than the first level of elongation.

  • Patent number: 6454752
Abstract: A pant-like, prefastened, refastenable, disposable absorbent article includes a pair of fasteners which provide refastenable side seams and at least one waist size adjustment means. The prefastened absorbent article defines a pair of laterally opposed side edges and a pair of longitudinally opposed waist edges. The fasteners are permanently attached to the side edges of one of the waist edges and engage the side edges of the opposed waist edges to form the refastenable side seams defining a waist opening and a pair of leg openings in the prefastened absorbent article. The fasteners are further configured to provide a waist size adjustment means.

  • Publication number: 20020058923
Abstract: A prefastened disposable absorbent article includes a pair of primary fasteners which are located on the opposed side edges in one the waist regions of the article. The primary fasteners overlap and releasably engage the opposite waist region of the absorbent article to provide the prefastened absorbent article. The prefastened disposable absorbent article further includes at least one secondary fastener and a belt which are configured to provide a pretensioned waistband and are capable of elongating to releasably engage the opposite waist region of the absorbent article to further conform the waist regions of the article to a wearer's body after the article has been pulled on over the hips of the wearer.
