  • Patent number: 6109118
Abstract: A system and method of obtaining an accurate sample of a fluid in a container comprising providing a container for accommodating a fluid to be analyzed, providing a hollow vessel of predetermined varying internal volume dimensions from one end of the vessel to the opposing end of the vessel disposed within the container, permitting and then stopping fluid flow from the container into the vessel and removing fluid from the vessel for analysis. The axis of the hollow vessel is positioned vertically and the hollow vessel is provided with a plurality of vertically spaced apart apertures controlled by the valve for receiving the fluid. The predetermined varying internal fluid receiving volume dimensions are controlled by providing an insert in said vessel having volume dimensions inversely proportional to the volume dimensions of the container at each height level in the container.

  • Patent number: 4103332
Abstract: The specification discloses a mile post location system which can be adjusted in accordance with a particular vehicle having a citizens band radio. The system includes circuitry for generating a distance signal in response to rotation of a wheel of the vehicle. Switches are accessible to the vehicle operator for generating a predetermined reference signal dependent upon the diameter of a tire of the vehicle and being representative of a predetermined distance traveled by the vehicle. The system further includes electronic circuitry for comparing the distance signal with the reference signal and for generating an output signal representing the predetermined distance traveled by the vehicle when the distance signal equals the reference signal. A mileage setting device is accessible to the vehicle operator and includes numerical digit keys operable for generating input signals representative of an initial mile post designation to a calculator circuit.

  • Patent number: 4068307
Abstract: This specification discloses a mile post location system particularly useful with a vehicle having a citizens band radio. The system includes a keyboard having switches which are representative of numbered digits, such that the vehicle operator may input an initial mile post designation indicative of the present location of the vehicle. The keyboard further includes switches to enable the vehicle operator to input incrementing or decrementing instructions. A computer circuit is responsive to the operation of the keyboard switches in order to store the initial mile post designation and the incrementing or decrementing instructions. A transducer is responsive to the distance traveled by the vehicle in order to generate and apply signals to the computer circuit. In response thereto, the computer circuit causes the initial mile post designation to be incremented or decremented in accordance with the stored instructions.

  • Patent number: 3975248
Abstract: Oxygen-containing carbon and silicon compounds having free appendant groups selected from hydrogen, hydroxy, amino, halogen, and oxygen are sintered into a molecular composite by means of a diffusant element of Groups IIIA, IV or VA of the Periodic Table to form novel compositions. These composite compositions are produced by a process which includes contamination of oxygen-containing carbon and silicon compounds with a diffusant element of Group IIIA or VA, or Ge, Sn or Ti of Group IV, and then subjecting the mixture to sintering which includes a high excitation energy and pressure.
