  • Patent number: 11216514
Abstract: A secure DNS query may be made by establishing a secure connection with a specific DNS server to determine an address for a hostname. A client device may have a database that may contain a record of a secure DNS server for one or more hostnames. When a DNS request contains one of the specified hostnames, an authenticated session may be created with the designated secure DNS server and a network address for the hostname is returned using the session. The authenticated session may authenticate a client device to the server as well as authenticate the server to the client. In some embodiments, the secure DNS server may accept connections from authenticated clients and may disregard connection requests from non authenticated clients.

  • Patent number: 8060927
Abstract: A network firewall may apply policies to packets based on a security classification. Packets with an authenticated and established security connection may be handled at a high throughput while packets with unauthenticated connections may be handed at a low throughput or even discarded. In some embodiments, three or more levels of security classifications may be used to process packets at different speeds or priorities. In some embodiments, one device may classify and tag each packet, while another device within the network may process the packets according to the tags.

  • Patent number: 7992750
Abstract: A wheel mount for storing and transporting a wheel, such as a spare bicycle wheel, is disclosed. The wheel mount is preferably substantially smaller that the wheel and attaches to an automobile or an automobile-mounted transportation rack. In one embodiment, the wheel mount attaches to a truck bed railing and has a slot for accepting a portion of an axle of a bicycle wheel, the slot restricting at least some movement of the bicycle wheel. In some embodiments, a cam mechanism common to many bicycle wheel axles can be engaged to further restrict movement of the bicycle wheel while it is in the wheel mount.

  • Publication number: 20060271268
Abstract: A fuel control system delivers fuel to an engine cylinder and compensates for lost fuel. The fuel control system comprises a fuel dynamics module that determines a fuel dynamics model that is indicative of fuel behavior. The fuel dynamic module determines an inverse of the fuel dynamics model, receives a fuel command, and generates an adjusted fuel command based on the fuel command and the inverse of the fuel dynamics model. A lost fuel compensation module receives the adjusted fuel command and generates a final fuel command based on the adjusted fuel command and a lost fuel factor. A control module controls fuel delivery according to the final fuel command.
