  • Patent number: 5127183
Abstract: A fly-fishing lure which comprises a hook comprising a shank, with an eyelet at one end of the shank portion and a curved portion at the other end of the shank portion is disclosed. The curved portion terminates at the end of the hook opposite the eyelet in a point. An elongated member is attached to the end of the shank portion opposite the eyelet. • Patent number: 4986492
Abstract: An improved fishing reel having a rim acting reel brake is disclosed. The presence of a transverse handle, placement of the brake on the reel and the mechanical advantage gained about the pivot provide for sufficient braking ability for use during big game fishing. The reel brake allows instantaneous response and the "feel" for the fight, provided by the brake, aids in the control of the fisherman while fighting a fish.

  • Patent number: 4891899
Abstract: This invention relates to a device for securing a fishing reel to a fishing rod. The rectangular foot of a fishing reel sits in flanges of sleeves positioned at either end of the rectangular foot. A threaded shaft passes through these sleeves and screws into a correspondingly threaded inside diameter of a fishing rod grip. A spacing tube is disposed between the sleeves to provide rigidity and enhance the appearance of the inventive system. The end of the threaded shaft opposite the threaded end is terminated by a knob. The knob urges the second sleeve towards the first sleeve as the threaded shaft is screwed into the fishing rod grip. The distance between the sleeves is decreased and the said rectangular foot is clamped between the sleeves. Thus the fishing reel is effectively clamped to the fishing rod.

  • Patent number: 4524540
Abstract: A line for fly casting is disclosed having a forward continuous taper from a widest point adjacent the center of the line, more or less, down to a minimum at the forward end of the line where a leader and fly are to be located. A reverse taper joins the forward continuous taper. The remainder of the line is a relative small, constant diameter and attaches to a reel.
