  • Publication number: 20170004168
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a method (30) of handling a hash-tree based data signature. The method (30) is performed in a first device (13, 13a) and comprises: receiving (31), from a second device (12, 12a, 12b), a data signature generation request, the request comprising an indication on type of storage of a generated data signature; generating (32), in response to the data signature generation request, the data signature B using a hash-tree based data signing method; and providing (33), to the second device (12, 12a, 12b), a reference C to the generated data signature, wherein the generated data signature is obtainable by means of the reference C. The disclosure also relates to a method in a second device, corresponding devices, computer programs and computer program products.

  • Patent number: 7782788
Abstract: A method of charging a subscriber for using GPRS services provided by a mobile communications network. The method is based on including a flag in PDP activation or modification messages sent from a UE used by the subscriber to a GGSN of the network; the flag indicates whether the PDP context is to be used for signaling data or user data. The flag is examined within the network or at a node external to the network; if the flag indicates that the PDP context is to be used for carrying signaling data, a first charging regime is applied to the subscriber for establishing and using the context and, if the flag indicates that the PDP context is to be used for carrying user data, a different charging regime is applied to the subscriber for establishing and/or using the context.

  • Publication number: 20080270614
Abstract: A method for the set-up of a bearer in a communication system from a first node which is adapted to a first bearer protocol to a second node which is adapted to a second bearer protocol is described. The set-up of a bearer is initiated by a message to the first node and an identification of the second node is provided to the first node. The first node determines whether the second node is adapted to the first bearer protocol and sets up the bearer according to the first bearer protocol if the second node is adapted to the first bearer protocol. Else, the first node sets up a bearer according to the first bearer protocol to a conversion node (BIGW) and sends an identification of the second node to the conversion node (BIGW) and the conversion node (BIGW) sets up a bearer according to the second bearer protocol to the second node and introduces a conversion unit between the first bearer protocol and the second bearer protocol. Nodes and program units adapted to the method are also described.

  • Patent number: 7295845
Abstract: In a method for the set-up of a connection in a communication network, the set-up is initiated with an initial message (12) from an originating control node (ON) to a terminating control node (TN) of the connection and the establishment of a bearer for the connection is initiated according to a reply to the initial message (12). A control timer (CT) is started according to the initial message (12) and an expiry of the control timer (CT) before an indication of the bearer establishment triggers a release for the connection. In the method, after receiving the initial message (12) at the terminating control node (TN), a paging (13) a user equipment (UE?) for the connection and starting a first timer (FT) according to the paging (13) initiation is performed, the expiry value of the first timer (FT) being set lower than the expiry value of the control timer (CT).

  • Patent number: 7113768
Abstract: The invention relates to a method in a wireless communications system (WCS) of controlling charging procedures for message services which enable transport of messages from a mobile station (MS) to a service center (SC), the method comprising transporting a message from the mobile station (MS) for example via a network node (MSC/VLR) to the service center (SC), temporarily storing the message at the service center (40), sending a first confirmation acknowledging receipt of the message at a service center (SC) to the mobile station (MS), and, if the mobile station (MS) acknowledges receipt of the first confirmation, routing the message from the service center (SC) to a recipient of the message and initiating a charging procedure (CU) for a message. The invention also relates to a network node (MSC/VLR) implementing this method and a wireless communications system (WSC) comprising such a network node (MSC/VLR).

  • Patent number: 6804505
Abstract: A method of determining a total call tariff in respect of a call from a Mobile Station currently registered with a foreign network. A total call tariff request is sent from a charging function of the foreign network to a rating node of the mobile telephone subscriber's home network, the message including a call tariff portion of the foreign network. At the rating node, the total call tariff is determined by applying a multiplying factor to the foreign network's tariff portion. The determined total call tariff is then sent to the charging function of the foreign network.

  • Publication number: 20030060187
Abstract: A method for distributing tariff change information to at least one mobile terminal in a network for mobile telecommunication, wherein the mobile terminal is capable of providing a user thereof with advice of charge information. The method includes the step of sending at least one charge advice information message to the mobile terminal, the at least one charge advice information message comprising: i) tariff change information that will become valid at a certain point in time; and ii) a time indication indicating the certain point in time when the tariff change information will become valid. The method enables a mobile telecommunication network to avoid peak traffic at tariff switches. This is achieved by the time-shifted transmission of new tariff information before the tariff switch takes place. The new tariff information is stored and processed in mobile terminals that are adapted according to the invention.
