  • Publication number: 20240329716
Abstract: An example apparatus, method, and computer program product for reducing power consumption while maintaining a high accuracy in a sensing device is provided. The example apparatus may include a microcontroller and a sensing device electrically connected to the microcontroller. In an instance in which the microcontroller is enabled, the microcontroller may enable the sensing device and enter a low-power mode for a pre-determined sensor wait time. The microcontroller may further be configured to, upon expiration of the pre-determined sensor wait time, receive electrical data from the sensing device. Further, upon receipt of the electrical data, the microcontroller may disable power to the sensing device. In some embodiments, the apparatus may include a switch electrically connected between the sensing device and a power source, wherein the microcontroller is configured to send an electrical signal to the switch to control an input power to the sensing device.

  • Publication number: 20240264206
Abstract: A non-invasive current sensor and a method for assembling the non-invasive current sensor are provided. An example non-invasive current sensor may include a first housing, the first housing including a magnetic core having a first end and a second end and a protective case. The magnetic core may be formed into a substantially complete perimeter having a center opening, and defining an air gap may between the first end and the second end of the magnetic core. The first housing may further include a protective case disposed in the air gap of the magnetic core. In addition, the non-invasive current sensor may include a second housing having a sensing element. The sensing element may be positioned such that in an instance in which the first housing is attached to the second housing, the protective case receives the sensing element.

  • Publication number: 20230408553
Abstract: Current sensors and components for measuring electrical current are provided. The current sensor component comprises a wire coil wrapped around a core and a pinboard coupled to the wire coil. The pinboard comprises a holder mounted on at least a portion of the wire coil and a pair of metal pins, wherein first ends of the pair of metal pins are coupled to the wire coil and configured to receive a voltage signal from the wire coil, and second ends of the pair of metal pins are coupled to an interface of a circuit board and configured to transfer the voltage signal from the wire coil to the circuit board.

  • Publication number: 20160321955
Abstract: An assistive device includes a sensor that detects information using a first modality; an actuator that conveys information using a second, different modality; and a controller that automatically receives information from the sensor and operates the actuator to provide a corresponding actuation. A sensory assisting system for a user includes assistive devices and a support the user wears to hold the devices in proximity to body parts. The fields of view of the devices' sensors extend at least partly outward from the body parts. The controller reads the sensors and operates the corresponding actuators. The actuators are as close as possible to their corresponding sensors.

A sensory assisting system for a user includes assistive devices and a support the user wears to hold the devices in proximity to body parts. The fields of view of the devices' sensors extend at least partly outward from the body parts. The controller reads the sensors and operates the corresponding actuators. A method of configuring a sensory assisting system includes successively activating actuators and receiving corresponding user feedback; determining perceptibility relationships for devices per the feedback; and repeatedly: activating the actuators per a virtual environment, a user avatar position, and the relationships; receiving a user navigation command; and moving the user avatar.
