  • Publication number: 20120012267
Abstract: Apparatus for removing fiber webs from fiber conveying supports are disclosed including a doctor beam, a doctor blade having a web contacting edge, a hose for fluids for applying a force between the doctor beam and the doctor blade when pressurized to move the web contacting edge towards the fiber conveying support, the fiber web having a basis weight over 1000 g/m2, the doctor blade and doctor beam being pivotably attached, and the hose arranged for applying the force at a distance form the pivotable attachment to move the web contacting edge by pivoting the doctor blade relative to the doctor beam.

  • Publication number: 20100206508
Abstract: A distribution unit for adding a fiber suspension to an inlet space in a dewatering press is disclosed. The distribution unit comprises a distribution housing, which forms at least one distribution slit intended to be connected to the inlet space of the dewatering press, and at least one inlet member for adding the fiber suspension to the distribution slit. The distribution housing is provided with at least one opening to the distribution slit and a matching hatch for sealing the opening. The hatch is hinged to the distribution housing so that it is pivotable relative to the distribution housing between a first position and a second position. An inlet box is also disclosed comprising a number of the distribution units.

  • Publication number: 20100043995
Abstract: Twin-wire presses are disclosed for dewatering fiber suspensions comprising endless upper and lower wires defining a dewatering space, upper and lower wire guides for guiding the wires obliquely towards the inlet end of the dewatering space, and upper and lower wedge-shaped seals extending from an inlet box towards the dewatering space inlet to create a seal in the tapering space between the wires and the fiber suspension entering the dewatering space. The inner surfaces of the wedge-shaped seals define a passage for the fiber suspension and the outer surfaces extend at an acute angle towards the inner surfaces so that at least part of the seals are sealed against the wires and the distance between the inner surfaces of the seals is substantially equal to the distance between the wires at the dewatering space inlet.

  • Patent number: 7476292
Abstract: A method for dewatering a fiber suspension in a twin-wire press is disclosed including feeding the fiber suspension to an inlet end of an elongated dewatering space, dewatering the fiber suspension during displacement of the endless lower and upper wires which form the elongated dewatering space by flowing filtrate through the endless lower and upper wires, collecting the filtrate in outlet boxes, and adjusting the pressure differential between the elongated dewatering space and each of the upper and lower outlet boxes by controlling the counter-pressure applied to the filtrate flow on both sides of the endless upper and lower wires directly adjacent the inlet end of the dewatering space. A twin-wire press is also disclosed therein.

  • Patent number: 7051882
Abstract: A twin-wire belt press is disclosed for dewatering a fiber suspension and forming a continuous web of the fiber suspension. The twin wire belt includes a plurality of upper and lower rolls, a perforated roll and endless upper and lower wire belts. Dewatering tables are used to support the endless upper and lower wire belts and form a wedge-shaped pressure space between the endless upper and lower wire belts for initially pressing and dewatering the fiber suspension and forming a web therebetween. Roll members, including at least two press rolls which form press roll nips with the perforated roll and another roll, press and dewater the web between the endless upper and lower wire belts.

  • Patent number: 6432274
Abstract: Apparatus is disclosed for handling a web including a pair of juxtaposed press rolls providing a nip therebetween, a coarse shredder trough disposed above the nip to receive the web from the nip, and a doctor arrangement for transferring the web from the outer surfaces of the press roll including a doctor support extending longitudinally of the pair of press rolls and a plurality of doctor blades attached to the doctor supports and extending in abutment with the outer surfaces of the press rolls, the doctor arrangement being supported by the coarse shredder trough whereby the doctor blades form a rigid structure for the plurality of doctor blades.
