Abstract: A method for manufacture of products containing disalts of formic acid. Potassium hydroxide, carbonate, bicarbonate or formate, sodium hydroxide, carbonate, bicarbonate for formate, cesium hydroxide, carbonate, bicarbonate or formate or ammonium formate or ammonia is mixed with formic acid at 40-100.degree. C., the mixture is cooled and centrifuged. The filtrate containing acid salt is collected. The filter cake is transported to a drier/mixer where other disalts, calcium formate and/or a desiccant can be added.

Abstract: A method for production of fish feed containing fish products and standard feed components and fish feed products. Ammonium-, sodium- or potassium diformates, comprising formic acid or mixtures thereof are included in the fish products prior to their further processing and mixing with the other feed components. The final fish feed contains preferably 0.3-2.5 weight % formates based on the total feed.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of cooling and preservation of fish and fish products from thus treated fish. The fish is cooled by a cooling medium in tanks, containers or other suitable facilities, and also subjected to treatment of at least one preservative agent. The fish is subjected to a combined treatment of a cooling medium and a preservative agent and said treatment is performed by means of a cooling medium comprising C.sub.1-4 monocarboxylic acids and/or mono/di or tetra salts of alkali- and/or earth alkal salts of said acids. The cooling is performed by a cooling medium, being an aqueous solution of C.sub.1-4 monocarboxylic salts in a concentration of 5-30 weight % salts and 95-70% weight water, or binary ice comprising a preservative agent. The most preferred brine or binary ice comprises potassium formate and/or potassium diformate and/or formic acid. The pH of the brine can be adjusted by addition of an acid or disalt being the equivalent of the monosalt applied in the brine.

Abstract: An animal feed additive and a feedstuff containing 0.2-2.5 weight % of the additive. The additive contains dicompounds of formic acid salt. The additive may also contain a desiccant. The additive contains 20-99 weight % potassium diformate, 0-50 weight % sodium di/tetra-formate, 0-25 weight % calcium formate, 0-4 weight % desiccant and 0-5 weight % water.
