The cable having a first cable section, a second cable section, and a joint region between the first cable section and the second cable section, and the conductor having a conductor joint in the joint region. The cable further including an armour including a plurality of elongated elements arranged around the insulation system the armour including a first single layer armour layer. Wherein, in the cable sections, the elongated elements of the first single layer armour layer include a plurality of cable section armouring elements and a plurality of filler elements, wherein, in the joint region, the elongated elements of the first single layer armour layer include a plurality of joint region armouring elements, the stiffness of the first single layer armour layer being higher in the joint region than in the first and second cable sections.
