  • Patent number: 10758691
Abstract: An additive gas delivery apparatus, system and method for delivery of additive gas, such as nitric oxide [NO], to a patient use a control computer configured to determine if a monitored parameter indicates that a patient is connected to the additive gas delivery apparatus, determine if the additive gas delivery apparatus is in a passive state in which it does not deliver additive gas, and activate an alarm if the additive gas delivery apparatus is in said passive state when the monitored parameter indicates that a patient is connected to the additive gas deliver apparatus. The alarm serves to notify the user of undesired non-delivery of additive gas, and so serves to improve safety in additive gas delivery systems.

  • Patent number: 8629761
Abstract: In a method and a system for initiating communication with an implantable medical device to conduct a wireless communication session between the implantable medical device and an external programmer device. A directional antenna is employed for initiating communication between a programmer device and an implantable medical device (IMD). The IMD is targeted by the programmer device by having an operator of the programmer device orient the directional antenna toward the IMD and transmitting a communication-initiating signal from the programmer to the IMD via the directional antenna. The directional antenna has a directional characteristic and communication range. the IMD responds to the communication-initiating signal by sending identification information to the programmer. the programmer may then use this identification to establish a communication session with the IMD targeted by the directional antenna.

  • Patent number: 8088075
Abstract: In a method and system for identifying an implantable medical device (IMD), which is arranged to be disposed in a body, by conducting a telemetry communication session between the implantable medical device and an external programmer device, cardiac data are registered from a point on the body of a patient having an IMD with which a communication session is to be established. The registered cardiac data are compared with one or more sets of intracardiac data pertaining to patients having an IMD implanted and to identify the IMD with which the communication session is to be conducted by the performed comparison.

  • Publication number: 20100041970
Abstract: An implantable medical device has an oxygen sensor adapted to measure the level of oxygen in oxygenized blood, and to generate an oxygen measurement signal in dependence of the level of oxygen. The oxygen sensor is adapted to perform measurements inside the heart, of blood entering the left atrium of a patient's heart. The obtained oxygen measurement signal is compared to a predetermined threshold level and an indication signal is generated in dependence of the comparison. The, indication signal is indicative of the lung functionality of the patient.

  • Patent number: 6052618
Abstract: A device for mapping electrical activity in a patient's heart, has an imaging unit, such as a fluoroscopic imaging unit, for generating a physical in vivo image of a patient's heart as an anatomical reference image, an electrode catheter, with at least one electrode for sensing intracardiac electrical activity, for insertion into a patient's heart, and signal processing equipment for determining activation times, from sensed electrical activity, in relation to a reference time for electrical activity at different points in the heart, and for generating a graphic image showing the activation times at different points in the heart and superimposing this graphic image onto the anatomical image. An arrangement is further provided for inserting at least one reference point into the anatomical image, and a setting unit moves the graphic image in relation to the reference image with the aid of the reference point.
