  • Patent number: 4759447
Abstract: An apparatus for feeding banknotes from an infeed opening 61, 66 along a transport path to a storage space comprises a detector 121 for detecting and controlling the transportation of the banknotes, a plurality of mutually separate storage locations 26, 27 in the storage space, a collecting location 22, a further transport path leading from the collecting location 22 to an outfeed opening 62, and a command input device 64. The infeed opening acommodates the manual insertion of a bundle of banknotes, or the insertion of a cassette 26' containing banknotes. The storage space accommodates the cassettes. Located between the infeed opening and the cassettes is a first transport route 201-202, 205, 22, 260-270 which includes the collecting location 22, and a second transport route 202-202, 205',260-270 which bypasses it. A choice can be made between the first and second transport routes and the second transport path with the aid of the command input device 64.

  • Patent number: 4736852
Abstract: An arrangement for feeding banknotes detects sequentially transported banknotes and controls their transport to a plurality of storage locations each having an additional infeed, which together form part of a transport path. The arrangement consists of one part (11 . . . 133) which incorporates an infeed opening (61), a detector (121) and a part of the transport path, along which the banknotes are fed in the direction of their longitudinal axes, and another part (201-2705) which incorporates modular storage locations (26,27) which house cassettes (26',27'), and the remaining part of the transport part, along which the banknotes are fed in the direction of the transverse axes. The length of each banknote is established with the aid of a measuring device (14-16) and therewith the location of the midway point of the banknote.

  • Patent number: 4662621
Abstract: An automatic banknote depositing apparatus has a housing (1) and a mechanism for transporting banknotes from an infeed opening to a cassette (11). The infeed opening is covered by one (14) of a plurality of insert devices when the apparatus is complete. The housing has a recess located adjacent the infeed opening to accommodate the insert device, which is provided with a plate (21) for bringing pressure to bear mechanically against banknotes, and a keyboard for controlling the apparatus. One of the insert devices forms, together with the housing an externally accessible opening (10c) for the manual insertion of banknotes. The insert device has a vertically displaceable bottom member (22) which, when occupying its upwardly displaced position, forms an inclined surface which extends down to the infeed opening.

  • Patent number: 4595828
Abstract: An apparatus for dispensing and/or feeding banknotes comprises two part cabinets each placed on a respective side of a wall. Arranged between the part cabinets is a part of a transport device whose cross-sectional area is substantially smaller than that of either part cabinet as seen perpendicularly to the longitudinal direction of the transport device through the wall. In the longitudinal direction of the transport device, the extension of one part cabinet is substantially smaller than the extension of the other part cabinet. To enable the one part cabinet to be mounted to the wall, a plate is provided whose cross-sectional area is of the same magnitude as that of the part cabinet. The one part cabinet has a large, rectangular opening, which is closed by a sheet of transparent material, and a small slot-like opening. The part of the transport device is arranged telescopically, so that it can be adjusted to the thickness of the wall.

  • Patent number: 4573848
Abstract: An arrangement for dispensing sheets from a store (10) to a withdrawal station (11), including first transport means (13-14) for transporting sheets from the store (10) to a collecting station (15), and second transport means (16-17) for transporting a bundle of sheets from the collecting station (15) to the withdrawal station (11). The collecting station (15) includes two mutually opposing walls between which the bundle of sheets is clamped during the initial stage of transportation from the collecting station. The walls are provided with wheels or rollers which are rotatable about shafts and which co-act with each other, two and two, one on each wall. The shafts of all wheels on each wall have mutually the same rotation direction, which is dependent upon the desired direction of transportation of the bundle of sheets, and the shafts of all wheels can be simultaneously pivoted in one and the same plane, depending upon the desired transport direction.

  • Patent number: 4539978
Abstract: An apparatus for treating back ailments includes a support for supporting a patient in a horizontal, lying position on the patient's back. A first tension force take up belt passes about the pelvis of the patient, while a second such belt passes around the chest of the patient. A pulling or tension device is connected to one of the belts so as to move relative to the support. A carriage moves with the support but with slight friction and carries either the pelvis or chest of the patient to exhibit a high degree of friction against the tension device. The small of the back is supported by a moveable member, and the carriage executed simultaneously with or independently of translatory movement relative to the support, rotary movement substantially in the horizontal plane or a skewing or distorting movement about an axis extending substantially parallel to the longitudinal direction of the carriage in accordance with a predetermined program.

  • Patent number: 4283097
Abstract: A cassette for banknotes and like valuable articles is provided with a displaceable lid (6) and locking means (10) for latching the lid of the cassette when the cassette is located outside a housing (25) in which it is intended to be placed. An operating means (8) is arranged to co-act with the locking means and with a latching element (15). The latching element is arranged to be released in dependence upon a pre-set program. A signal circuit is arranged to send a code signal to a detector circuit (23) when electrical contact elements on the cassette and the housing co-act with one another, which detector circuit, when the signal coincides with the signal program in the detector circuit, causes a signal to be sent for moving the latching means to a non-latching position.

  • Patent number: 4020972
Abstract: This disclosure relates to a machine for dispensing a predetermined number of banknotes in bundle form with the banknotes being removed from a stack in sequence and there being counting apparatus for counting banknotes passing along a flow-path and a double note detector for detecting the simultaneous passage of plural banknotes along the same flow-path. The banknotes, as they are dispensed, are collected in a collecting compartment and if the proper number is dispensed without double notes being detected, the collected banknotes are delivered to a customer. However, if double banknotes are detected or there is an error in counting, the dispensing of notes from the stack ceases and all notes in the collecting department are diverted into a storage compartment and the machine is recycled.
