  • Publication number: 20060273949
Abstract: A radar level gauge using microwaves for measuring a level of a surface of a product in a container, comprising a microwave unit, processing circuitry connected to said microwave unit, an interface for connecting said radar level gauge externally thereof, and a power management circuitry arranged to provide operating power to said microwave unit and said processing circuitry. The power management circuitry includes a temporary energy store, means for providing said temporary energy store with an intermediate voltage lower than an operating voltage required by said processing circuitry, in order to charge said energy store, and converting means, for converting an output voltage from said temporary energy store up to said operating voltage. According to this design, a sufficient amount of energy can be stored in the temporary energy store, operating at an intermediate voltage lower than the operating voltage of the radar level gauge.

  • Patent number: 6223745
Abstract: A nebulizer and method for forming a finely atomized aerosol are provided. A first aerosol is formed by passing a gas jet across the mouth of a liquid channel that communicates with a liquid reservoir. The first aerosol then strikes a stop surface and is converted into a second, more finely atomized aerosol. The second aerosol impacts a buffer plate. The larger liquid particles in the second aerosol strike the plate and are either broken up or returned to the liquid reservoir. The smaller particles follow a labyrinthine path through at least one slit-shaped passage in the buffer plate, in the process forming a third, final aerosol. Selection of the passage size allows control of the particle size distribution of the third, final aerosol.

  • Patent number: 6138678
Abstract: The incontinence control device of the present invention as described includes a cloth strap adapted to encircle a penis, the strap having cooperative pressure adherence layers on portions of the inner and outer surfaces so that the strap can form a circumference when the inner adherence layer is engaged with the outer adherence layer of the strap. The inner surface of the strap also has a compressible pad adjacent the pressure adherence layer and another compressible pad in fixed relation to the first pad. An inflatable sac is affixed to the strap between the two compressible pads. A tube passes through the strap to communicate with the interior of the inflatable sac at one end of the tube. A check valve is attached at the other end of the tube. A syringe is adapted to engage the check valve so that air in the syringe can be injected through the tube into the sac to inflate the sac.

  • Patent number: 5269674
Abstract: A dough divider having a dough chamber and, reciprocating therein, a dough feeding plunger for feeding a batch of dough to a measuring chamber whose volume is adjustable for producing pieces of dough of any desired volume and weight. For the driving of the dough feeding plunger, this is connected to a driving motor through the intermediary of a spring device. To avoid undesired working of the dough in the dough chamber during feeding of the dough to the measuring chamber, the spring device in the dough divider according to the invention is double-acting, and the dough divider is provided with an adjustable abutment which stops the dough feeding plunger as it moves away from the measuring chamber, such that the effective volume of the dough chamber may be adapted to the measuring chamber volume as set. Since the spring device is double-acting, relative motions between the driving motor and the dough feeding plunger can be absorbed by the spring device in both directions of travel of the plunger.

  • Patent number: 4755175
Abstract: A catheter intended for insertion into a canal or canal-like organ, for example into the urethra leading to the urinal bladder of a human being, for the purpose of emptying the contents of the urinal bladder of that person into the catheter. The catheter comprises a preferably flexible, tubular catheter body incorporating a urine inlet and provided with an insertion section together with means for holding the catheter within the urethra. The catheter body also includes a discharge section spaced from the insertion section and intended, for example, for connection to a urine collecting vessel.According to the invention the interior of the tubular insertion section is arranged to support a sieve or filter element, and means for creating turbulence in the incoming flow to the catheter body, so as to prevent blocking of the inlet opening.

  • Patent number: 4753642
Abstract: A urine-collecting container-valve assembly particularly intended for use when taking urine from the urinal bladder of a patient, particularly a bed-ridden patient. The assembly comprises a container, made of thin plastic material, having an inlet port which accommodates a non-return valve arrangement. The valve arrangement is housed in a valve housing having an inlet and an outlet. Arranged in the interior of the valve housing is a perforated plate-like element which extends transversely to the longitudinal axis of the valve housing in liquid-tight abutment with the walls of the housing. The housing also has arranged therein a pressure-activated buoyant body which is freely movable between the mutually opposing surfaces of the plate-like element and the bottom wall of the valve housing. The invention is characterized by means which co-act with the buoyant body in a manner to guide the body axially during its movement from one terminal position to another terminal position.

  • Patent number: 4745941
Abstract: A valve system is provided for enriching a flow of one gas with flow of another gas, with the mixing of the gas flows being conducted so as to maintain a constant ratio of the two gases in the resultant flow. The system of the present invention is particularly well suited for use in enriching a flow of pressurized combustion air with a flow of oxygen. A mixing valve is utilized that has a body which extends into a supply line through which combustion air is ducted under pressure to a burner. The mixing valve provides an injection location at the center of the combustion air supply line where relatively movable valving components are positioned for introducing oxygen into the flow of combustion air. The introduction of oxygen into the combustion air flow is regulated in accordance with the flow rate of the combustion air as it is sensed at the location of the mixing valve. The body of the mixing valve defines a chamber that is divided into segregated portions by a flexible diaphragm.
