  • Patent number: 11393217
Abstract: A vehicular vision system includes a camera at a side of a vehicle and having a field of view exterior of the vehicle. With the vehicle parked, the system processes via an image processor image data captured by the camera to detect an object present in a detection zone at least partially along the side of the vehicle. With the vehicle parked, the system tracks the detected object to determine movement of the object relative to the parked vehicle. Responsive to tracking the detected object, the system is operable to determine that the object is in a danger zone at a side door of the parked vehicle that includes a sweep area that the side door swings through when opening. With the side door closed, and at least in part responsive to determination that the object is in the danger zone, the system limits opening of the side door.

  • Patent number: 10915761
Abstract: A vehicular vision system includes a camera and an image processor that processes frames of image data captured by the camera. With the vehicle parked, the vehicular vision system processes frames of captured image data to track a three dimensional object to determine movement of the three dimensional object relative to the parked vehicle. The vehicular vision system determines that the three dimensional object is a bicycle sideward and rearward of the parked vehicle and approaching the parked vehicle from rearward of the parked vehicle. With a door of the parked vehicle closed, and at least in part responsive to the determined bicycle being within a threshold distance to the parked vehicle and approaching a side region adjacent the door of the vehicle, the vehicular vision system generates an output indicative of determination of the determined bicycle approaching the side region adjacent the door of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 10474909
Abstract: A vehicular vision system includes a camera and an image processor that processes frames of captured image data to determine a path of travel of the vehicle. The system determines some image data points to be ground and tracks image data of a three dimensional object present in the field of view of the camera to determine movement of the image data of the object relative to the determined ground. Responsive to a determined ground location of a determined bicycle and responsive to the known height of the camera, the system determines distance to the bicycle. At least in part responsive to the bicycle being within a threshold distance to the vehicle and in the determined path of travel of the vehicle, the system generates an output indicative of determination of the bicycle being in the determined path of travel of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 10210399
Abstract: A vision system of a vehicle includes a camera and an image processor operable to process image data captured by the camera. Responsive to processing of captured image data by the image processor, the image processor determines the presence of a pedestrian in the field of view of the camera, with the determination using foreground segmentation utilizing a Gaussian mixture model. Responsive to processing of captured image data by the image processor, the vision system determines that a ground location of a distal portion of the determined pedestrian. Responsive to the determined ground location of the distal portion of the determined pedestrian, the vision system determines a distance to the determined pedestrian. At least in part responsive to the determined pedestrian being within a threshold distance to the vehicle, the vision system generates an alert to a driver of the vehicle.
