Abstract: Disclosed is a system for improving a mobile payment application. In an example, the system may provide for receiving from a portable computing device a first payment authorization request message comprising a total amount due and a payment credential, and responding to the portable computing device with a first call identifier. The system may further provide for receiving a second payment authorization request comprising a second call identifier from a merchant backend server, comparing the first call identifier and the second call identifier for verification, and, in response to a successful comparison, communicating a message indicating that the first call identifier has been verified.
