  • Publication number: 20110201986
Abstract: The present invention provides a method for enhancing an immune response in a mammal to facilitate the elimination of a chronic pathology. The method involves the removal of immune system inhibitors from the circulation of the mammal, thus, enabling a more vigorous immune response to the pathogenic agent. The removal of immune system inhibitors is accomplished by contacting biological fluids of a mammal with one or more binding partner(s) capable of binding to and, thus, depleting the targeted immune system inhibitor(s) from the biological fluids. Particularly useful in the invention is an absorbent matrix composed of an inert, biocompatible substrate joined covalently to a binding partner, such as an antibody, capable of specifically binding to the targeted immune system inhibitor.

  • Patent number: 7127815
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a Coriolis flowmeter for the measurement of a process material requiring an ultra high level of purity. This is achieved by forming the entire flow path of the Coriolis flow meter from a PFA plastic material that does not transfer ions from the Coriolis flowmeter to the process material flowing through the flowmeter.

Date of Patent: October 31, 2006
    Assignee: Emerson Electric Co.
Inventors: Martin Andrew Schlosser, Mark James Bell, Matthew Glen Wheeler, Daniel Patrick McNulty, Leland Charles Leber
  • Patent number: 7005019
Abstract: A flow meter is disclosed that is comprised of a base, a driver, pick-offs, and a flow tube made from a fluoropolymer substance. The base of the flow meter is comprised of a first leg and a second leg. The first leg includes a tube opening and an adhesive opening and the second leg includes a tube opening and an adhesive opening. The flow tube passes through the tube openings of the first leg and the second leg. The tube opening of the first leg has a diameter slightly larger than the flow tube to create a gap between the tube opening and the flow tube. The adhesive opening of the first leg provides access to the gap so that adhesive may be applied to the flow tube and an inner surface of the tube opening to affix the flow tube to the base. The adhesive opening in the second leg performs the same function.
