    Abstract: The method of the present invention provides for blasting a melt with a gaseous oxidizer in a furnace bath having a greater depth in zones of oxidative blasting and slag formation, and a lesser depth in a zone of slag separation, the bath depth in the slag separation zone equaling 0.3-0.8 of that in the blasting zone.
