  • Publication number: 20180279946
Abstract: In some embodiments, the disclosed subject matter involves identifying environmental factors and user context that affect sleep quality. Embodiments use information about the static sleep environment, as well as dynamic environmental factors, such as sound, light, movement, correlated with user context, such as physical and emotional state, as well, as recent behavior to classify sleep data. The correlated and classified sleep data may be used to provide change recommendations, where implementing the recommended change is believed to improve the user's sleep quality. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

  • Patent number: 10075835
Abstract: One or more sensors gather data, one or more processors analyze the data, and one or more indicators notify a user if the data represent an event that requires a response. One or more of the sensors and/or the indicators is a wearable device for wireless communication. Optionally, other components may be vehicle-mounted or deployed on-site. The components form an ad-hoc network enabling users to keep track of each other in challenging environments where traditional communication may be impossible, unreliable, or inadvisable. The sensors, processors, and indicators may be linked and activated manually or they may be linked and activated automatically when they come within a threshold proximity or when a user does a triggering action, such as exiting a vehicle. The processors distinguish extremely urgent events requiring an immediate response from less-urgent events that can wait longer for response, routing and timing the responses accordingly.

  • Publication number: 20180096632
Abstract: Systems, apparatuses and methods may leverage technology that generates textual descriptions of scenes based on visual content and audio content and generates haptic signals based on the textual descriptions if the textual descriptions satisfy a safety-related condition. Additionally, audio output signals may be generated based on the textual descriptions if the textual descriptions do not satisfy the safety-related conditions. In one example, a complex neural network (CNN) is trained and used to generate the textual descriptions in real-time.

  • Patent number: 9912775
Abstract: Various systems and methods for transmitting a message to a secondary computing device are described herein. An apparatus comprises a context processing module, a context-aware message mode module, and a message retrieval module. The context processing module retrieves a context of a user of a primary computing device. The context-aware message mode module identifies a message mode for communicating with a secondary computing device of the user based on the context. A message retrieval receives a communication message at the primary computing device, determines that the communication message is to be transmitted to the secondary computing device of the user based on the message mode, and based on the determining, translates the communication message into a translated message according to the message mode and transmits the translated message to the secondary computing device from the primary computing device.

  • Patent number: 9602490
Abstract: The present application is directed to user authentication confidence based on multiple devices. A user may possess at least one device. The device may determine a device confidence level that the identity of the user is authentic based on at least data collected by a data collection module in the device. For example, a confidence module in the device may receive the data from the data collection module, determine a quality corresponding to the data and determine the device confidence level based on the quality. If the user possesses two or more devices, at least one of the devices may collect device confidence levels from other devices to determine a total confidence level. For example, a device may authenticate the other devices and then receive device confidence levels for use in determining the total confidence level, which may be used to set an operational mode in a device or system.
