Abstract: A water activity toy has a channel for a stream of water which floats a vessel on the stream, and a paddle wheel that moves through the channel to generate the stream. The paddle wheel includes a plurality of blades on axle stubs which are removably mounted on mountings at opposite sides of the channel. A crank used to rotate the paddle wheel is connected with one axle stub which is liftable out of its mounting. Lifting the crank tilts the paddle wheel to provide clearance for a tall vessel floating by the paddle wheel mountings. The mountings have similar constructions and are oppositely facing. Each mounting includes a horizontal open ended bearing slot having a side slot with a constriction at the outboard end of the slot. Each axle stub includes parallel flattened surfaces which form a reduced dimension region that enables the axle stub to pass radially through the constriction, provided that radial protrusions on the flattened surfaces are out of alignment with the constriction.

Abstract: In an alkyl glucoside of formula (I) R.sup.1 is an alkyl group having 2-5 carbon atoms, preferably 2-4 carbon atom; R.sup.2 is an alkyl group having 4-7 carbon atoms, preferably 5 or 6 carbon atoms, the sum of the carbon atoms in R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 being 7-11, preferably 7-9; G is a monosaccharide residue; and x is 1-4, preferably 1 or 2. The use of the alkyl glucoside as a surfactant in a cleaning composition is also disclosed.

Abstract: An ethoxylate and a process of cleaning a hard surface with a low foaming detergent includes providing a low foaming detergent composed of the ethoxylate having a general formula which is selected from the group consisting of formula (I):C.sub.5 H.sub.11 CH(C.sub.3 H.sub.7)CH.sub.2 O(C.sub.2 H.sub.4 O).sub.n Hand formula (II):C.sub.5 H.sub.11 CH(C.sub.3 H.sub.7)CH.sub.2 O(C.sub.2 H.sub.4 O).sub.p (B).sub.r H,wherein n is 2-16, p is 1-10, r is 1-6, and B is an alkyleneoxy group having 3-4 carbon atoms; and cleaning the hard surface with the low foaming detergent.

Abstract: A water activity toy including a main channel portion for a stream of water, and the channel having a siding which distends one side of the channel. A gate or wall is pivotally supported on a pivot post in the main channel and is operable between an upstream-downstream orientation, which directs the main water flow through the main channel portion for floating a vessel through the main channel portion and an orientation transverse to the main channel portion which diverts the main water flow into the siding and floats the vessel into the siding. The gate is also operable to the upstream-downstream orientation with the vessel in the siding for retaining the vessel in the siding. The siding may be a harbor for the vessel. An impeller moves the water in a stream through the main channel.

Abstract: An alkoxylate of 2-propyl heptanol having from 1 to 6 alkyleneoxy groups (B) adducted to the oxygen of the alcohol and from 1 to 10 ethylene oxide group adducted to the terminal alkyleneoxy group and having a general formula (I)C.sub.5 H.sub.11 CH(C.sub.3 H.sub.7)CH.sub.2 O(B).sub.r (C.sub.2 H.sub.4 O).sub.p H (I),wherein B is the alkyleneoxy group which has 3-4 carbon atoms, p is 1-10 and r is 1-6.

Abstract: An educational water toy for children, which incorporates a first water tank (1) fitted to a base plate (2) and having at least one outlet opening (21, 22). The base plate further has additional water tanks (3, 4) provided below the outlet opening (21, 22) and preferably designed as figures (31, 41), which are freely pivotably supported about a pivot axis (33, 43) extending perpendicularly to the base plate (1), in such a manner, that it in unfilled condition is in a balanced position, and that in at least partly filled condition by means of unbalance pivots to a tilting position, in which it is emptied. By a repetition of this process a rocking motion is obtained.

Abstract: A toy boat of the type where the hull (11) of the boat is constituted of a closed hollow body produced by means of blow moulding of a thermoplastic material in a mould, the parting line (13) of which is situated in the vertical longitudinal metacenter plane of the boat. The purpose is to provide a complete toy boat produced by means of the blow moulding method without movable cores and which boat hull in finished design present such details as gunwale, bulwark, tow hooks etcetera, which can have a colour contrasting to the colour of the boat hull.

Abstract: A periscope, particularly a toy periscope formed of an elongated housing, having at one end portion an inlet opening in one side surface, and at the opposite, second end portion an outlet opening, and two deflection mirrors arranged in the interior of the housing at the two end portions thereof. To facilitate manufacture, the housing is formed of a one piece blow molded plastic material. Mirror holding elements are located in the inlet and outlet openings.

Abstract: A roller-blind shutter having transverse depressions forming long plateaus in one of a pair of opening and closing shutters which exceed the length of the transverse depressions in the other of the curtains in the region in which they overlap on a spool when the shutter is cocked.

Abstract: The present invention provides compositions and a process for the electroplating of metal or metal alloy coatings of high brightness on a base surface, and especially coatings of tin or tin-lead alloys having a high brightness. The compositions comprise a 2,4,6 -- substituted phenol, at least one substituent of which includes at least one secondary, tertiary or quaternary nitrogen atom or an alkylene oxide adduct of such phenol and, optionally, an aldehyde and/or a surface -- active compound.
