Patents by Inventor Lennart Diestel-Feddersen

Lennart Diestel-Feddersen has filed for patents to protect the following inventions. This listing includes patent applications that are pending as well as patents that have already been granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

  • Patent number: 8742635
Abstract: A turbo generator (1), including a stator and a rotor (2), has a rotating bell type exciter (3) connected to one end of the rotor (2) and the exciter (3) being equipped with at least one cooler (7). An axial duct (11) with a guide (12) is provided between a cylindrical housing (13) and the outer circumference of the bell type exciter (3). Thus, drawbacks of the prior art are mitigated and the efficiency of the bell type exciter is increased by recovering the dynamic energy of the cooling fluid flow.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 20, 2007
Date of Patent: June 3, 2014
    Assignee: Alstom Technology Ltd.
Inventors: Michel Verrier, Olivier Perros, Lennart Diestel-Feddersen
  • Patent number: 8022591
Abstract: A flux screen is provided for shielding a generator stator core from the magnetic field generated by end windings of the stator, wherein the flux screen comprises a frontside to be at least indirectly facing the end windings of the generator and a backside to be at least indirectly facing the stator core of the generator, and wherein the backside is provided with channels and/or grooves and/or pits.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: September 20, 2011
    Assignee: Alstom Technology Ltd.
Inventors: Pascal Chay, Michael Jean-Marie Berlamont, Janusz Bialik, Johann Haldemann, Lennart Diestel-Feddersen
  • Patent number: 7592722
Abstract: A gas-cooled generator has a rotor rotatable about an axis, a stator surrounding the rotor concentrically and a rotating exciter connected to the rotor. The stator, rotor and exciter are arranged along the axis on a common base frame. A first cooler configured to cool the rotor and stator and second cooler configured to cool the exciter are connected to one another for the exchange of cooling gas via the base frame. At least one tube running in the base frame provides the connection between the first and second coolers.

  • Publication number: 20060290214
Abstract: The invention relates to a dynamo electric machine with a brushless exciter which comprises an exciter rotor driven by the rotor of the dynamo electric machine, and an exciter stator interacting with the exciter rotor. The design of the machine with respect to cooling is facilitated by cooling the exciter with a gaseous cooling medium, particularly air, by means of an independent cooling circuit, and by providing a separate fan for circulating the gaseous cooling medium within the cooling circuit of the exciter.
