  • Publication number: 20030189348
Abstract: A spreader has an elongate main-frame (1) arranged to be suspended in cables from a crane, and twist locks are arranged in the ends of the spreader for simultaneously connecting to two containers (4, 5) arranged in side by side relation. Two pairs of twist locks (3) are arranged in each end of the spreader, the twist locks of each pair having a fixed lateral distance (a) and the pairs of twist locks being laterally movable and controlled for adjustment of a lateral distance (b) between the pairs of twist locks. A method for processing two containers in side by side relation in a single lowering/lifting step, and for adjustment of a lateral distance and/or lateral, relative angle between the two containers during transfer and lowering to release the containers in side by side relation.

  • Patent number: 6352292
Abstract: An arrangement for a spreader for hoisting containers includes a beam extendable from a retracted position in a housing to an extended position. An additional beam member is received in an inner end of the extendable beam and is arranged to slide axially with respect to the extendable beam, as well as with respect to the housing. An interlocking device is arranged on the extendable beam and on the additional beam member. The interlocking device transfers an extension motion from the extendable beam to the additional beam member. A device arranged on the additional beam member as well as the housing acts to limit the relative axial motion of the additional beam member with respect to the housing. The additional beam member provides an inner end extension of the extendable beam when the additional beam member is extended to engage the device of the housing.

  • Patent number: 5757003
Abstract: The concentration of oxygen clusters in silicon is determined with a spectrometer, for the infrared interval, by obtaining the absorption coefficients for one or more of the wave numbers 728.+-.1, 734.+-.1, 975.+-.1, 988.+-.1, 1000.+-.1, 1006.+-.1 and 1012.+-.1.sup.cm-1, using the standard method that is used to determine oxygen atoms in interstitial position and carbon atoms in substitutional position when the measurement is carried out at the wave number 1106 and 605 cm.sup.-1. The absorption measurements are taken at room temperature and are standardized with respect to the thickness of the sample. The measurements are multiplied with a known calibration constant, whereupon the respective absorption coefficient for the different measured wave numbers are a measure of the concentration of different configurations of the oxygen clusters.

  • Patent number: 4592521
Abstract: A guiding device for a distributor for winding a cable on a flanged reel, which guiding device (6) comprises a traverse tube (17) supported by a traversing device (3) of the distributor for reciprocating the tube between the flanges of the reel. The tube forms a path of movement (L) for guiding the cable (5) to a free end of the traverse tube. A guide head (20) is provided at the free end of the traverse tube for guiding the path of movement of the cable with respect to the flanges (11, 12) of the reel (9). The guide head comprises at least one guide surface (24) eccentrically positioned with respect to the path of movement for contacting the flange of the reel. The horizontal distance of the guide surface from the path of movement is equal to one and a half times the diameter of the cable to be wound in a first rotation position of the guide tube and to half the diameter of the cable in a second rotation position of the guide tube.
