  • Patent number: 4948448
Abstract: A method of manufacturing moisture-resistant corrugated paper board, particularly paper board intended for the manufacture of boxes, comprising an outer planar liner, an inner planar liner and a corrugated so-called floating disposed between the liners, wherein the liners and the floating consist of a paper which incorporates a rosin size. The invention is characterized in that the paper (5) on which the floating (7) is to be formed, is impregnated throughout its thickness with a first substance which includes a plastics suspension, preferably a styrene-butadiene suspension, and starch, and in that the paper (1, 3) for the liners, at least with respect to the surface (2, 4) of at least one of the liners (10) which is intended to face away from the floating (7) is coated with a second suspension which includes a plastics suspension preferably a styrene-butadiene suspension, and starch, and in that respective liners (10) are adhesively bonded to the floating (7).

  • Patent number: 4834001
Abstract: Base member for pallets, especially for pallets of the type consisting of two or several base members, optionally provided with recesses for the forks of a fork lift truck, having a number of holes perpendicularly to their length direction, distributed along and at a minor distance from the upper surface of the base member or at the same surface, through which tubes can be inserted under a minor friction so as to unite the base members with each other to the formation of the pallet. The invention is characterized in that the base member is constituted of a pressed and folded wrapping (11) which after folding forms at least the essential outer surfaces of the base member (5, 6, 7, 12) and that stiffening inserts (a-f, 13-23, 31, 34) are present in an essential part of the inner space of the folded wrapping, also above the recesses for the forks of a fork lift truck, which inserts are bonded to the wrapping.

  • Patent number: 4670310
Abstract: A method for treating a nail in order to increase the withdrawal load required to withdraw the nail from a piece of timber into which it has been driven. In accordance with the invention the nail is coated with a suspension containing a chelating agent so selected that, upon contact with lignin present in the timber the nail is bonded to the lignin via a chelate bond. The chelating agent comprises a modified polysaccharide in aqueous solution and is provided with a protective colloid to which the chelating agent has a lower affinity than to the lignin present in the timber. The suspension also includes a suspended polymeric thermoplastic resin to which the chelating agent has a lower affinity than to the protective colloid.
