Abstract: A personal mobility assistance device has a frame that includes a linkage mechanism, a first frame portion, and a second frame portion. A first rigid frame component of the first portion is connected to a second rigid frame component of the second portion by the linkage mechanism and movable relative to the first rigid frame component such that the apparatus is capable of being configured in a plurality of apparatus configurations. A plurality of light emitters has a first set of light emitters electrically connected to a conductor and affixed to the first frame portion and a second set of light emitters electrically connected to the conductor and affixed to the second frame portion. When the light set is in an active on state, the conductor forms an electrical connection between a power source and the plurality of light emitters to activate the plurality of light emitters to emit light.
