    Abstract: Method and charging station for charging rechargeable battery-operated device(s). The charging station comprises at least one receptacle for receiving at least one rechargeable battery-operated device to be charged, a payment module for processing a payment for allowing one or more of the at least one rechargeable battery-operated device to be charged for a period of time and a charging module for charging the one or more of the at least one rechargeable battery-operated device within the at least one receptacle, in accordance with the processed payment, the charging module receiving electrical power from a local power generator. The method comprises receiving the rechargeable battery-operated device for connection into the receptacle, processing a payment for allowing the rechargeable battery-operated device to be charged for a period of time and charging the rechargeable battery-operated device within the receptacle, in accordance with the processed payment.
