  • Patent number: 4911792
Abstract: Process for the separation of HF, 2,2-dichloro-1,1,1-trifluoroethane (FC-123) and/or 2-chloro-1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane (FC-124) mixture by subjecting the mixture to a temperature from about -80.degree. C. to about 40.degree. C. and a pressure from about 0.10 MPa to about 3.55 MPa in a separation zone, whereby an organic phase having less than 15 mole percent of HF is formed as the bottom layer in the separation zone and an acid phase having at least 93 mole percent of HF is formed at the top in the separation zone.
