  • Publication number: 20130057020
Abstract: This invention relates to devices that reduce the drag against the rear end of Box Trucks and Trailers caused by turbulent airflow over, under, and from the sides of said vehicles while moving. This invention uses the compression of the plurality of vortices within the turbulence chamber to create an entropic relationship with ensuing vortices flowing over the open top and bottom of the chamber-causing those turbulent air vortices to flow over the chamber. This entropic “order out of disorder” effect eliminates the need for a top or bottom physical skin (sheet metal, plastic, etc.) to close the chamber.

  • Publication number: 20040182221
Abstract: A stringed instrument featuring one or more contoured surfaces is claimed. The instrument features a body with a neck that supports strings tautly oriented across the front face of the instrument. Either the front, back, or both faces of the instrument are contoured or skewed such as to improve the ergonomic aspects of the instrument. In use, the ergonomic design facilitates a user reaching over the back top side to strum the strings, and allows the whole instrument to be rolled slightly towards the user at the top side. This also effectively tilts the string supporting neck in an ergonomically effective manner. The skewed body may be curved at its ends or have essentially straight ends skewed from each other.

  • Patent number: 4869026
Abstract: A belt sander having a continuous belt whose grit faces inwardly toward the centrum of the space encompassed by the belt. The sander is powered by electric motor means such as an electric drill motor. Its function is to de-burr, sand, or polish metal or wood work pieces to a cylindrical or curved shape. Its action is to encompass the work piece with a moving belt whose inward facing surface is coated or covered by the desired abrasive or polishing material, and to cause contact between the belt and the work piece to remove or add material. Spring pressure is normally applied between the driving shaft or pulley and the frictionally driven belt to prevent or minimize slip when the driven belt sands a pipe or other curved surface. The sander is constructed so as to be selectively portable or stationary mounted on a table. It may also be driven by a chain saw.

  • Patent number: 4534260
Abstract: The present invention pertains to the string supporting assembly of various types of string musical instruments, typified by a guitar. Each string of the instrument is held in skew alignment relative to one or more of the respective strings supported by the assembly to make chording finger positions comfortable.
