  • Patent number: 6419454
Abstract: A controller for managing a plurality of compressors in an efficient manner such that the system uses less energy, has lower maintenance cost and experiences less wear. For a system with multiple compressors the controller has the minimum number of compressors needed to maintain the pressure on at any given time and has no more than one compressor running in an unloaded condition for maximum efficiency. The system can quickly pressure up or down in conjunction with the needs of the system. The controller rotates the order of use of the compressors to spread the time of use and for limiting the number of times during an hour that each compressor can be turned on such that the compressors take turns running and turning on and off for even wear. The system seldom uses more than one compressor unloaded at any time.

  • Patent number: 5452687
Abstract: A boiler sequencer system having a microprocessor based controller which allows the firing rate for multiple boilers to be increased or decreased with a proportional output integrated with the process variable rate of recovery that is desired, preventing unnecessary rapid advancements to high fire even when a boiler is started with a high off-set of the process variable from its set point. The controller automatically overrides this proportionate control when the process variable rises above a predetermined maximum or falls below a predetermined minimum.

  • Patent number: 5172654
Abstract: A microprocessor-based sequencer for a multiple boiler heating system which allows the plural boilers to operate in a base load mode whereby one or more boilers can be made to operate at their optimum operating points and as the heating demand changes, a swing boiler accommodates the change, leaving the other(s) at their Preferred Load value until the swing boiler can no longer satisfy the demand change. At this point, the sequencer adjusts the base load level away from the preferred load set-point.
