  • Publication number: 20240164777
Abstract: An apparatus includes a cannular defining a lumen and a wound closure device. The cannula can couple with a suction source to establish fluid communication between the suction source and the lumen. The cannula includes a distal portion defining at least one aperture such that the at least one aperture is in fluid communication with the lumen and an exterior surface of the distal portion. The wound closure device can cover a wound in skin. The wound closure device can receive a layer of topical adhesive to adhere to the skin and form a microbial barrier over the wound. The wound closure device includes a cannula housing defining a channel that can receive a distal portion of the cannula. The cannula can be inserted within the cannula housing to provide fluid communication between the suction source and the wound after formation of the microbial barrier.

  • Publication number: 20240164950
Abstract: An apparatus includes a cannula that can establish fluid communication with a suction source, and a wound closure path dimensioned to cover a wound in skin. The wound closure patch can receive a topical adhesive to adhere to the skin and form a microbial barrier over the wound. The wound closure patch defines a channel. The wound closure patch includes a top surface, a bottom surface defining at least one channel interposed between the top surface and the bottom surface, and a fluid coupling section in fluid communication with the channel. The fluid coupling section can couple with the cannula to thereby establish fluid communication between the cannula, the channel, and the at least one opening defined by the bottom surface.

  • Patent number: 11974734
Abstract: A device for application onto incisions or wounds with a liquid rapidly polymerizable adhesive for forming skin closure systems, comprising a flat porous mesh elongated along a longitudinal axis and having an upper side and an opposing lower or wound facing side and a central portion in immediate vicinity of the axis; further having a plurality of pores and windows in said mesh, said windows substantially larger than said pores and arranged along said longitudinal axis in said central portion; a crosslinking or polymerization accelerator or initiator disposed in or on said mesh; and a pressure sensitive adhesive disposed on at least a portion of the lower surface of said mesh.
