Abstract: Aqueous formulations containing a copolymer of monoolefinically unsaturated monomers having an acid number of 5 to 150 mg of KOH/g of substance and/or a polyurethane having an acid number of 5 to 150 mg of KOH/g of substance as the binder and a triglycidyl isocyanurate having an epoxy value of 0.5 to 1.01 as the cross-linker are suitable for dressing fill grain, buffed or split leathers.

Abstract: Seasoning agents for leather and leatherlike materials contain solutions of cellulose acetobutyrate having a butyryl content.gtoreq.45% by weight.

Abstract: Acrylate binders consist of (a) 38 to 98% by weight of a C.sub.2 -C.sub.8 -alkyl acrylate, (b) 1 to 6% by weight of (meth)acrylic acid, (c) 0 to 30% by weight of acrylonitrile, (d) 0 to 60% by weight of methyl methacrylate and (e) 0 to 10% by weight of one or more other comonomers containing no acid, basic or crosslinking groups and are obtainable by copolymerization of the monomers in the presence of 0.02 to 0.5% by weight of an organic peroxo compound and 1.0 to 5.0% by weight of an anionic emulsifier, the percentage data relating to the sum of (a) to (e), are particularly suitable for dressing leather.

Abstract: Formulations containing pigments and/or delustrants, a solution of a pigment binder and, if appropriate, additives, characterized in that the pigment binder is a copolymer of, relative to the weight of the copolymer,10-40% by weight of an acrylic acid ester having 1-12 C atoms in the alcohol chain,10-40% by weight of a methacrylic acid ester having 1-4 C atoms in the alcohol chain,10-30% by weight of N-vinylpyrrolidone,5-15% by weight of acrylic acid and10-20% by weight of a vinyl ester having 1-4 C atoms in the acid chain,which have been prepared in an organic solvent which is miscible with water in the presence of a regulator and of a per-compound or an azo compound which donates free radicals at the polymerization temperature, and the use of these formulations for pigmenting and/or delustring dressing agents for leather and leather imitations.

Abstract: Advantages in the dressing of leather, especially of split leather, with a synthetic rubber latex are obtained if in the leather dressing, the rubber latex is reacted with from 0.5 to 50% by weight, based on solid rubber, of one or more oxides and/or hydroxides of one or more bivalent metals and the leather is treated with a non-polymerized rubber latex which is produced in a one-stage process up to a monomer conversion of from 70 to 95% by weight, by emulsion polymerization of:(A) from 1 to 10 parts by weight of one or more .alpha.,.beta.-monoethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acids; and(B) from 90 to 99 parts by weight of a mixture of(a) from 10 to 90 parts by weight of butadiene and(b) from 10 to 90 parts by weight of styrene and/or acrylonitrile, wherein the quantity of acrylonitrile in the mixture amounts to a maximum of 50 parts by weight.

Abstract: Pigment preparations containing 2-70 % by weight, relative to the total preparation, of an inorganic or organic pigment dispersed in a solution of 10 to 49% by weight, relative to the total preparation, of a water-insoluble copolymer in an organic solvent, the copolymer containing 40-60% by weight of acrylic acid ethyl ester, 30-50% by weight of methacrylic acid methyl ester and 5-15 % by weight of acrylic acid hydroxyethyl and/or hydroxypropyl ester or methacrylic acid hydroxyethyl and/or hydroxypropyl ester and being prepared at 50.degree.-170.degree. C. in the presence of 0.5-5.0% by weight, relative to the sum of the monomers, of an organic per-compound or an azo compound which supplies free radicals at 50.degree.-170.degree. C., in an organic solvent, and their use for pigmenting dressing agents for leather and imitation leathers.
