  • Publication number: 20140273140
Abstract: Food grade products are given priority with a sustainable integrated corn based bio grind refining process. Premium fractions are fractionated for human foods and premium fermentable products. The balance food feedstocks are refined for animal feed with no loss of nutritional value. By-products of refining are used to produce ethanol and other energy products. There is no process waste. The integrated processes can be adapted to new continuous refineries or to optimize or retrofit one or more individual process steps. Plants located in remote growing areas can be pre-fabricated and shipped for operating of smaller plants utilizing batch and manual operation of one or more key steps or be continuous, automated, and operated simultaneous with food grade fractionated pre-ethanol process followed by cellulose processing for additional yield.

  • Patent number: 7488390
Abstract: Plant materials such as corn kernels which contain starch and fiber comprising cellulose, hemicellulose, lignin, and pectin are refined. The starch, cellulose, hemicellulose, and pectin are converted to sugars which are then fermented to ethanol. Additional sources of starch and fiber are optionally added to the refining process to further increase the yield of ethanol.

  • Patent number: 7452425
Abstract: A grain containing starch, such as corn, is refined. The grain is steeped in water at a temperature of about 125 to 160° F., which water is essentially free of sulfurous acid and contains recycled enzymes from downstream processes, in a counter-current steeping reactor for about 10 to 20 hours to produce an aqueous slurry of steeped grain having a moisture content of about 40 to 50 percent. The various components of the grain are then separated and the starch is converted to ethanol.
