Publication number: 20210191152Abstract: The invention allows the wearer to easily retain and locate the optics in various positions on the bridge of the nose to enable viewing through different optical field depths as in the case of tri-focals and other progressive lenses. Another benefit of soft hooks is the prevention of the glasses being dislodged due to moisture such as sweat, and sudden movement such as in sports or working activities. The design focusses on the invention being able to apply to eyeglass arms of various shapes and thicknesses including readers, sunglasses and fashionable straight arms. A unique feature is the simple attachment of the invention as a result of the voids between entry and exit points for the prevention of a ‘caterpillar’ effect. The design facilitates robust positional locational stability on the frame arms, but still allows adjustment for varying positioning needs.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 23, 2019Publication date: June 24, 2021Inventors: Leon Helfet, Todd James Hannon

Patent number: 8567348Abstract: A manual litter box provides various advantages over the prior art. In particular, in one embodiment, the manual litter box is configured to use a disposable cartridge which may include a litter compartment and a waste compartment. In another embodiment, the cartridge may be non-compartmentalized. The cartridge may be disposable, thus eliminating the need for the user to clean the litter tray and handle heavy litter containers. In other embodiments, the system includes a rake assembly configured with a manual shuttle chassis drive assembly that is protected from contamination. In accordance with another embodiment of the invention, the manual litter box is configured to be used with all types of litter including crystal type litter.Type: GrantFiled: July 8, 2011Date of Patent: October 29, 2013Assignee: Radio Systems CorporationInventors: Alan Jay Cook, Thomas Devlin, Leon Helfet, Kevin John Augustyniak

Patent number: 7601258Abstract: An improved water return system for water reservoirs such as aquariums and ponds that provides a return of filtered water through a series of holes rather than a curved weir or spillway. The use of the holes provides for high oxygenation of the water prior to its return to the water reservoir to the benefit of life in the water reservoir. Further, the use of the holes provides reduced noise upon the return of the water because of the surface tensions attracting adjacent streams to each other. Also, placement of the holes provides a damming effect for the filter media that can become a site for the cultivation of beneficial bacteria that are necessary to remove ammonia and nitrites from the water by positioning the media mostly out of water, thereby allowing necessary oxygen to be freely available to grow bacteria.Type: GrantFiled: January 9, 2008Date of Patent: October 13, 2009Inventor: Leon Helfet

Patent number: 7425274Abstract: An aquarium filter which is constructed of a housing which includes a module. The module is divided into a plurality of different sections. A separate filter cartridge is to be mounted within each section. Each filter cartridge is to be removable and replaceable in conjunction with its specific section.Type: GrantFiled: November 14, 2005Date of Patent: September 16, 2008Inventor: Leon Helfet

Patent number: 7155999Abstract: A strap wrench which includes a plurality of gripping pads located on the strap that facilitates tight engagement of the cylindrical object that is used to be located thereabout for the purpose of gripping and turning of the cylindrical object. The strap wrench also includes a brake that provides for securely locking of the position of the strap when it is in its tightly mounted position preventing any loosening movement of the strap. The brake includes a ratcheting mechanism that permits movement of the handle in only one position when the brake is in the locked position. The strap may include a joint assembly which will permit the strap to be separated to be located in conjunction with a cylindrical object and then rejoined.Type: GrantFiled: September 20, 2005Date of Patent: January 2, 2007Inventor: Leon Helfet

Patent number: 6789450Abstract: A strap wrench for turning generally cylindrical objects where the strap wrench includes a manually rotatable thumb wheel which is mounted within a handle. Rotation of the thumb wheel produces lineal movement of a strap that attaches to the handle. The strap wrench is firmly mounted about a generally cylindrical object and applying a twisting force to the strap wrench is to result in turning movement of the generally cylindrical object.Type: GrantFiled: July 1, 2002Date of Patent: September 14, 2004Inventor: Leon Helfet

Patent number: 6178563Abstract: A toilet deodorizer comprising a pump housing in the form of a cylinder 52 and a piston 54. The cylinder 52 is to be mounted on the movable toilet seat 14 of a conventional toilet. When sitting on the toilet seat, the toilet seat moves which causes a piston 54 to be moved within the cylinder 52 which causes liquid to be dispensed from a pump chamber 50 through an outlet valve 100 in contact with a deflector plate 134 which disperses the liquid within a wide area of the toilet bowl 10. When the user gets up from the toilet seat, the toilet seat is lifted which causes retraction movement between the piston 54 and the cylinder 52 which causes a new quantity of liquid to be pulled through an inlet valve 44 into the pump chamber while maintaining the outlet valve closed.Type: GrantFiled: February 15, 2000Date of Patent: January 30, 2001Inventor: Leon Helfet
