  • Publication number: 20150130265
Abstract: A solenoid valve for fluid control of a vehicular hydraulic braking system includes an armature having a damping port. The damping port of the armature provides a turbulent fluid flow characteristic to fluid passing through the armature that creates a damping characteristic to attenuate noise and vibrational disturbances that is generally less sensitive to temperature and viscosity conditions of the fluid.

  • Patent number: 9016660
Abstract: An electromagnetic valve for use in controlling fluid flow between first and second passageways in a hydraulic valve block includes a valve body. The valve body defines a central axis, has a central opening therethrough, and has a lower end adapted to be inserted into a bore of the valve block. A hollow valve dome is attached to an upper end of the valve body. An armature is axially moveable within the valve dome. A spring biases the armature in one axial direction. A closing element is coupled to a lower end of the armature. An electromagnetic coil coaxially surrounds the armature and is operable to effect axial movement of the armature in an axial direction opposite the one axial direction. A valve seat member is carried by a lower end of the valve body and has an orifice providing fluid flow between the first and second valve block passageways. The valve seat member defines a valve seat that surrounds the orifice and cooperates with the closing element for selectively closing the orifice.

  • Patent number: 7150507
Abstract: A self-cleaning orifice includes a housing having a bore defined therein. The bore includes a first diameter inlet portion and a second diameter outlet portion, with a seating surface defined between the inlet and outlet portions. A movable body having a seating surface with a groove defined thereon is disposed within the outlet portion of the bore. The body is movable relative to the housing to a first position in which the seating surface of the body is seated against the seating surface of the housing and provides a restricted flow between the inlet portion and the outlet portion of the bore The body is also movable relative to the housing to a second position in which the seating surface of the body is spaced apart from the seating surface of the housing creating an unrestricted fluid flow path between the inlet portion and the outlet portion of the bore.

  • Patent number: 6471305
Abstract: An isolation valve for controlling fluid flow in a vehicular braking system, the valve comprising: a solenoid coil assembly; an armature moveably positioned within the solenoid coil assembly, the armature having a ball end engaging a ball seat and an edge groove at the ball end to modify Bernoulli force that affects movement of the armature when the solenoid coil assembly is de-energized.

  • Patent number: 6450590
Abstract: A control valve for controlling fluid flow in a hydraulic control unit of a vehicular brake system includes a valve seat having a longitudinal fluid passage terminating in an opening. The valve seat also includes a planar seat formed on an outer surface of a terminus of the valve seat. The opening is formed in the seat. A sloping surface surrounds the seat. An angle is formed between a line coplanar with the seat and the sloping surface. The angle ranges between approximately 3.5 degrees and 4.5 degrees. A sleeve is mounted on the valve seat. An armature is slidably received in the sleeve. This control valve is particularly adapted to be mounted in a bore of a housing of a hydraulic control unit of an electronically controlled vehicular brake system.
