  • Patent number: 10811866
Abstract: In a general aspect, a circuit can include a reference current generator configured to generate a first current signal representative of a threshold voltage. The circuit can also include a current comparator configured to mirror the first current signal, generate a second current signal representative of a received voltage and compare the second current signal to the first current signal. The current comparator can also be configured to provide a detection signal at a first logic value to indicate that the received voltage is below the threshold voltage when the comparison of the second current signal with the first current signal indicates that the received voltage is less than the threshold voltage.

  • Patent number: 8407687
Abstract: Methods, systems, and configured storage media are provided for discovering software updates, discovering if a given computer can use the software update, and then updating the computers with the software as needed automatically across a network without storing the updates on an intermediate machine within the network. Furthermore, when a failure is detected, the rollout is stopped and the software can be automatically removed from those computers that already were updated. The software update can be stored originally at an address that is inaccessible through the network firewall by intermediately uploading the software update to an update computer which is not a part of the network but has access through the firewall, which is then used to distribute the update.

  • Patent number: 7089440
Abstract: A data processing system includes first, second, and third agents connected to a shared bus. The third agent is able to receive information via the shared bus from the first agent or from the second agent. The third agent includes a skew compensation circuit to determine signal skew in signal received via the shared bus and to compensate for the skew by adding delay into selected signals of the bus. The skew compensation circuit determines whether the first agent or the second agent is the sender of information received by the third agent via the shared bus. The skew compensation circuit alters the skew compensation based on the identity of the sender such that the delay into the bus signals is specific to the corresponding sender.

  • Patent number: 6845436
Abstract: A memory system for a data processor whereby a plurality of memory devices, or storage chips, are coupled to a memory controller. There may be one, two, or more such memory devices, wherein some of the memory devices may be coupled to the memory controller via a single data bus, with an alternative embodiment including a second plurality of such memory devices coupled to the memory controller via a second data bus. Two separate clock buses are used to transport data between the memory controller and the various memory devices. A first clock bus is used to synchronize the transfer of data from the memory controller to a memory device. This clock bus will have a clock signal generated at the memory controller through a clock generation circuitry as a function of a system clock received by the memory controller.

  • Patent number: 6661859
Abstract: A synchronizer for providing a source-synchronized clock bus reduces the effect of clock skew during the signal capturing process. The synchronizer includes at least one capture latch in the capture clock domain for capturing the signal, at least one storage latch for storing the signal coupled to the at least one capture latch, and a multiplexer coupled to the at least one storage latch. The multiplexer synchronizes data transfer of the at least one storage latch and the at least one capture latch, and an internal latch in the internal clock domain. The signal is controlled and processed by strobe signals and clock signals from the sending chip.

  • Patent number: 6411412
Abstract: The present invention relates to an optical network including a bridge for selectively transferring information from an optical channel carried on a first WDM optical waveguide to at least two optical channels on a second WDM optical waveguide. The first and second optical waveguides carry WDM optical signals each having plural optical channels. A bridge is interposed between the first and second optical waveguides which includes an optical add-drop multiplexer optically communicating with each waveguide. At least one optical channel having first and second data bits streams is dropped from the first waveguide. The first and second data bit streams are respectively encoded on two different optical channels which are then added to the second optical waveguide.

  • Publication number: 20020024698
Abstract: The present invention provides a flexible WDM optical communication system in which each optical channel of the WDM optical communication signal can simultaneously accept multiple data formats. In one embodiment, the WDM optical system includes an optical waveguide having an optical add-drop multiplexer to selectively add and/or drop one or more optical channels to/from the WDM signal carried on the waveguide. A first source of data imparts information onto a first optical channel in a packet format while a second source of data imparts information onto the first optical channel in a time division multiplexed format. Other data sources having other data formats may also be included. An optical network interface electrically communicates with the data sources, placing the data from these sources onto the first optical channel which is generated from an optical source such as a laser. An optical path carries the optical channel from the optical source to the optical add-drop multiplexer.
