  • Patent number: 8689993
Abstract: Systems and containers for holding and transporting potentially hazardous materials are disclosed. Assembled containers may have locking mechanisms reducing the possibility of the containers being opened by persons that are not opening the container in a safe environment. Moreover, containers with releasably securable members for carrying substances such as frozen carbon dioxide, used for maintaining cold temperatures of various items are disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20130105434
Abstract: There is disclosed a composite novelty cap for enclosing a fluid container, the cap having a body constructed to mount within the interior portion of the cap to divide the container chamber into an upper and lower chamber, the body having a wall depending from and spaced from the interior portion of the cap. Depending wall is provided with a plurality of apertures to allow fluid communication between the upper and lower chambers. The body further includes an electronic capsule formed therein which contains an electronic body including a circuit board, switch means for activating the circuit, power source and lights. The electronic body is secured within the fluid tight electronic capsule. The assembly permits the user of the device to drink fluid from the container while simultaneously activating the electronics in order to light up both the upper and lower chambers of the container.

  • Patent number: 8348465
Abstract: A glow stick includes a housing, a lighting assembly mounted within the housing, having at least two light sources, at least one power source, at least one switch and circuitry for controlling the at least two light sources. An elongated body is mounted to the housing and is formed from a material that is transparent or translucent to light transmission. One of the light sources is mounted within the housing to provide a flashlight that is mounted to the housing at an angle between 0 and 180 degrees and the other light source is directed into the elongated body to illuminate the elongated body so that light is visible therefrom. The light source for the flashlight is switchable between a constant on and a constant off state and the light source illuminating the body is switchable among a constant on state, a constant off state and an intermittent state. The flashlight light source and the body light source are operable independently of one another.

  • Patent number: 6105639
Abstract: A delivery system for dispensing controlled amounts of liquid or powder has two slidingly engaged parts which are held together as a single unit. The system is particularly useful for delivering powdered solidifying agents to closed medical waste containment systems. Because medical waste container lids include different sized ports, including relatively large diameter pour spouts and relatively small diameter ortho ports, the delivery system is provided with means for selectively coupling to either pour spouts or ortho ports, vastly increasing the adaptability of the delivery system to given container lids loosed by pushing one of the two parts toward the other until a valve plug in the upper part of the system is received within an aperture of a valve seal membrane in the lower part of the system. The system is opened by pulling one part of the system away from the other using the sliding engagement means so that the valve plug exits the aperture in the valve seal membrane.

  • Patent number: 6032705
Abstract: A delivery system for dispensing controlled amounts of liquid or powder has two slidingly engaged parts which are held together as a single unit. The system is closed by pushing one of the two parts toward the other until a valve plug in the upper part of the system is received within an aperture of a valve seal membrane in the lower part of the system. The system is opened by pulling one part of the system away from the other using the sliding engagement means so that the valve plug exits the aperture in the valve seal membrane. Interior contoured walls prevent undesired collection of powder within the system, the relative orientation of the two parts of the system is adjustable to control the rate of flow of powder, and the system is particularly suitable for introducing powdered desiccants into medical waste containers without exposing the contents of the waste containers to the surrounding environment.

  • Patent number: 4643381
Abstract: A removably mountable and selectively positionable dashboard tray for holding food, utensils, debris, spillage or the like having an aperture specially adapted for releasable retentive engagement to a footholder for a footed cup or cupholder. Continuous upraised rims extend from both the outer edge of the dashboard tray and that portion of the dashboard tray which is adjacent to the aperture. The aperture adaptations include centering lugs and co-located shoulders in which a circle may be circumscribed whose diameter is smaller than the footholder. The centering lugs project into the aperture so that when the footholder is engaged herewith, the lugs flex away from the axis of the footholder to provide a releasable snap fit of the tray to the footholder.

  • Patent number: 4613220
Abstract: A film cartridge is provided to hold an endless film strip for storage and display. The cartridge includes a pressure support plate to hold the film in a focus plane for projection, which plate is a resilient, generally ellipsoidal loop with a front projection opening and means for securing the loop to the cartridge in a position to resiliently and uniformly press against the perimeter of the front opening in the cartridge to thereby guide and control motion of the film strip.

  • Patent number: 3989279
Abstract: A package such as a tea bag has a side surface thereof on which is printed a message. The message is printed with materials that are substantially indistinguishable with the naked eye until a staining agent is activated which selectively stains the package surface but not the indicia thereon to produce a visibly apparent display.

  • Patent number: 3951517
Abstract: A wide angled reflector unit for securement to the spokes of a bicycle wheel, the reflector unit comprising a pair of reflector elements, each of the reflector elements having a central planar section and an angled planar side section or wing extending outwardly at an angle from each side of the central section, all integrally formed, with each of the reflector elements having reflecting surfaces on the inside facing surface thereof on the central section and on the angled side sections or wings, with one of the reflector elements nesting within the other reflector element with the reflecting surfaces of each facing the other, the pair of reflector elements being secured together and forming a single unit, means for securing the reflector unit to the spokes of a bicycle wheel, and each of the reflector elements providing a reflecting surface on each side of the reflector unit of an arc of approximately 110.degree. which reflect laterally and forwardly and rearwardly of the wheel.
