  • Patent number: 4151527
Abstract: A process and apparatus for the detection of an object in air, wherein a beam of electromagnetic radiation is emitted, the reflected beam is received, the frequency of the reflected beam being varied discontinuously over a frequency band. The amplitude of the energy of the beam received for the various frequencies of the emitted beam is measured so as to utilize, for the detection of the object, the particular frequency or frequencies of the beam for which the reflected beam possesses a substantially higher energy than the energy of the beam reflected at the other frequencies.
