Publication number: 20230392368Abstract: Systems and methods for use in automatic alignment of prefabricated building modules. Mating alignment structures on a new module and one more placed modules or mounted pilots interact as the new module is lowered to align edges of the new module relative to the placed components. Different alignment structure types are used to provide different degrees of positional alignment for different edges of a module during installation. When two edges of a module are simultaneously constrained, a horizontal position of one edge is constrained to a greater degree than the second edge. Alignment structures also can be configured so the degree of position constraint on a particular edge varies and to change which module edges are constrained as a module is lowered into position. The system and methods are suitable for use with prefabricated building modules having preinstalled interlocking façade panels.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 11, 2021Publication date: December 7, 2023Applicant: ASSEMBLY OSM, INC.Inventors: Cristian BURAN, Andrea VITTADINI, Leon PARKHOUSE, John CERONE, Lorenzo PANERO, Ennio PICCO

Publication number: 20230125829Abstract: A connection node assembly for use in connecting an upper prefabricated building module to a lower module. Hollow vertical edge supports of the building modules have top and bottom connection parts. A connecting bolt can be passed through the top part of an upper vertical support in the upper building module and seated within the bottom part of that vertical support with the shank extending downward. The shank engages a threaded aperture in a connecting nut secured within the top part of a corresponding lower vertical support in the lower building module. Diaphragm plates sandwiched between the upper and lower vertical supports are used to tie horizontally placed modules together.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 3, 2021Publication date: April 27, 2023Inventors: LEON PARKHOUSE PARKHOUSE, Andrea Vittadini, Matthew Charles John Clark, Simone Andreatta, Victoire Morgane Chloe Saby

Patent number: 9991497Abstract: An electric storage battery and method of manufacture thereof characterized by a feedthrough pin which is internally directly physically and electrically connected to an inner end of a positive electrode substrate. A C-shaped mandrel extends around the pin and substrate end enabling the pin/mandrel to be used during the manufacturing process as an arbor to facilitate winding layers of a spiral jellyroll electrode assembly. The pin additionally extends from the battery case and in the final product constitutes one of the battery terminals with the battery case comprising the other terminal. Active material is removed from both sides of the outer end of the negative electrode in the jellyroll to allow room for adhesive tape to secure the jellyroll. The electrolyte is injected through the open end of the case after the endcap is welded to the negative electrode but before sealing the endcap to the case. The electrolyte is preferably injected through the C-shaped mandrel to facilitate and speed filling.Type: GrantFiled: August 7, 2014Date of Patent: June 5, 2018Assignee: QUALLION, LLC.Inventors: David M. Skinlo, Hisashi Tsukamoto, Andrew Szyszkowki, Leon Parkhouse, Vladimir Zolotnik

Patent number: 7003353Abstract: A photovoltaic powered charging unit is mounted in a head covering, such as a cap or hat, for a patient who has an inductively chargeable medical device implanted in his head. The implanted device includes an implanted battery which powers the device. The photovoltaic cells provide continuous charging for the implanted battery and power for the implanted device when subjected to light. The charging unit includes a nonphotovoltaic cell that may be used to charge the implanted battery and power the implanted device in the absence of sufficient power from the photovoltaic cells. The cap has a sending coil located so that when the wearer dons the cap, the sending coil aligns with a receiving coil implanted in the patient's skull or brain. The implanted receiving coil is coupled to provide charging current to the implanted battery and power to the implanted device.Type: GrantFiled: September 30, 2003Date of Patent: February 21, 2006Assignee: Quallion LLCInventor: Leon Parkhouse
