Abstract: A method and system for locating a target electronic device utilizes the wireless capabilities of multiple third party devices thereby allowing these devices to search for the target electronic device on a large scale. The third party devices electronically sense other electronic devices and report the location of the third part device when the target device is sensed.

Abstract: A method for optimizing ad-based conversions is provided. The method may comprise the steps of receiving user input from a user through one or more ad-based entry points, where each entry point providing one or more reference codes in response to the user input; initiating a subscription sequence based on the reference codes; randomizing a plurality of concurrently available advertising campaigns selected based on the reference codes; selecting at least one landing page from the randomized advertising campaigns to be presented to the user based on the reference codes; and determining a conversion rate based at least partially on one or more of the reference codes, the engaged entry point, the selected advertising campaign and landing page.

Abstract: The present invention generally relates to home and/or office automation. More particularly, the present invention implements an open system that uses a gateway server and set top boxes to control security, lighting, home heating, air conditioning and ventilation, and audio and video distribution. By using a system such as the one described herein, a home and/or office autormation system can be easily programmed and operated without specially trained installers. Further, by using popular standards, such as Internet protocols, and a programming language, such as JAVA™, specially developed application and use cases become portable and operable regardless of the manufacturer of the subsystems in the home or office automation system and regardless of components that exist in the home or office automation system.
