  • Patent number: 4656677
Abstract: Savings in water consumption are obtained and problems with leakage are avoided by using a water-closet valve which is made of flexible air- and water-tight material and has not only a generally frustoconical seat-engaging portion provided with a pair of circumferential rings or protuberances so as to permit the formation of a double seal but also an interior hollow portion such that towards the end of a flushing operation there is produced within the valve member a partial vacuum which creates a thrust force to perfect the sealing of the valve member within its seat.

  • Patent number: 4499798
Abstract: A pair of pliers is provided with a slot in each jaw to receive the tongue member of a special purpose plier cap member having a unique working face. The cap member may be quickly assembled, removed and replaced. The cap members have a tongue which engages a pair of rods secured across the jaw slots and also have a finger-like projection which engages an arcuate recess at the base of the slot. The cap members are retained by engagement of the finger-like projection in the arcuate recess and by engagement of grooves in the cap member tongue with the bars which are secured across the jaw slot.

  • Patent number: 4385406
Abstract: An improved water closet valve is provided having two separate and distinct circular sealing rings interposed between the valve bulb and the conical opening which constitutes the valve seat. Both sealing rings may be secured to the bulb; both may be secured to the conical opening or one may be secured to the valve bulb and another to the surface of the conical opening. When the valve is in a closed position, at least two distinct spaced-apart seals are provided to obstruct the flow of water.

  • Patent number: 4038058
Abstract: A carrier frame supports a renewable filter cartridge for rotation within a filter housing that includes an annular side wall with an air inlet and a bottom wall having an air discharge opening communicating with a carburetor for an internal combustion engine. A pedestal supports the carrier frame via an anti-friction bearing within the filter housing. The pedestal has diammetrically-opposed annular wall segments that close the airflow space between two adjacent arcuately-shaped impellers that join together upper and bottom cover plates forming part of the carrier frame. The upper cover plate has an outer diameter that corresponds to the annular opening in the renewable filter cartridge while the bottom cover plate has an outer diameter that is approximately equal to the outside diameter of the renewable filter cartridge for support thereof. The bottom cover plate additionally supports vertically-extending fins located at the outer peripheral surface of the filter cartridge.
