Abstract: Disclosed is a system for extinguishing fires that uses a plurality of projectiles, which may be delivered to a fire from a safe distance. Each of the projectiles includes a shell that encapsulates a fire extinguishing agent. The shell may be designed to break apart on impact and/or when subjected to high temperatures. The fire extinguishing agent may include dry chemicals, powders, and the like. Also disclosed is a delivery device that propels a plurality of projectiles, like bullets from a gun, or like a stream of objects from a canister. By encapsulating the fire extinguishing agent within a shell, the projectiles may be more accurately and precisely directed to a fuel source of a fire, thereby extinguishing the fire more efficiently and with less collateral damage than in related art solutions.

Abstract: A method of drafting preferred stock and common stock shareholder rights plans that dilute the investment of an uninvited bidder for control of a company, that provides for issuance of rights to purchase equity securities at a discount price, void in the hands of the bidder, that issues new rights continuously once a previous right has become exercisable and increases the number of shares issuable on exercise as the bidder's percentage ownership increases. Additionally, a method of exercising preferred stock and common stock rights plans that provides for exercise of rights to purchase equity securities after a stock acquisition date on which a person becomes owner of a specified percentage of shares, at discounts from the current market value of the stock, wherein the rights continuously reload to holders of shares and unexercised previous rights once a new stock acquisition date occurs.

Abstract: Fires in tanks storing combustible liquids are treated by introducing a fire extinguishing media comprising frozen projectiles onto the surface of the burning liquid. The media is applied across the surface of the burning fluid to extinguish the fire and prevent its re-ignition.

Abstract: A thrower system includes a container for storing a projectile to be thrown, a centrifugal thrower for propelling the object a distance away from the thrower system through centrifugal force, and conveying means for transporting the projectile between the container and the centrifugal thrower. The thrower system may throw baseballs, softballs, golf balls, or similar objects, and in particular, may be a cryogenic projectile thrower system.

Abstract: A retraction resistant straw of a generally cylindrical construction having a retaining tab having one edge secured to the outer periphery of the cylinder of the straw substantially parallel to the cylinder's longitudinal axis. A retaining edge from the tab extends radially from the cylinder. The tab is flexible and may be laid about the outer periphery of the straw when same is inserted into a disposable juice carton, and will return to a relaxed position so that the retaining surface will engage the inside of the upper wall of a juice carton when a child or other user attempts to retract same. An alternate embodiment having a circular retaining edge which is the bottom of a truncated cone coaxial with the straw is also shown.
