  • Patent number: 8715344
Abstract: A wholly implantable non-natural heart for humans includes a pumping unit, a power generating unit, and a controller. An I beam type chassis with matching holes is provided for supporting valve mounting bodies of the non-natural heart.

  • Publication number: 20120010049
Abstract: An apparatus for body fat reduction and muscle building includes a bridge having a rectangular shape. A chassis is joined to the bridge and extends away from a back side. A piston having a surface for applying a load resistance to an abdomen is positioned proximate the bridge with a stem extending through a central hole. A swash plate is joined to a distal end of the stem. A return spring is in communication with the swash plate. A drive shaft is mounted to the chassis. A cam is joined to the drive shaft where the cam contacts the swash plate. A motor rotates the drive shaft and cam to move the piston in a first direction towards the abdomen and the return spring moves the piston in a second direction away from the abdomen. A belt secures the bridge to a user with the piston adjacent to the abdomen.

  • Patent number: 5242429
Abstract: An enteral feeding device for the admission of fluids into a patient. The device includes a female proximal end connector, a flexible feeding tube, a fluid discharge tube, and a probe, respectively, joined axially to provide a diametrically uniformed outer periphery the entire length of the enteral feeding tube. The guide wire has a male proximal end connector affixed to the proximal end thereof and a coiled helical spring immovably attached to the distal end thereof. An annular stop flange is located interiorly adjacent the proximal end of the fluid discharge chamber which restricts the axial movement of the guide wire when inserted into the enteral feeding tube. A plurality of fluid discharge orifices are radially disposed equidistantly apart around the outer periphery of the fluid discharge chamber. A concave slope is interiorly located juxtaposed the bottom surface of the fluid discharge chamber.

  • Patent number: 4989254
Abstract: An electro-acoustic transducer having a spherically shaped diaphragm for the generation of sound in an omnidirectional capacity. The spherically shaped diaphragm is constituted of two identical diaphragm halves open at the hemispherical apexes and connected at the equatorial diameter via inwardly extending reinforcing flanges. The spherically shaped unit is driven by magnetic arrangement(s) located within the interior of the spherically shaped diaphragm. The moving coil(s) of the magnetic arrangement(s) are connected to the diaphragm via rigid conical projections from the magnetic arangement(s). The rigid conical projections communicate the movements of the coil(s) to the diaphragm. The diaphragm travels in a north-south direction during operation such that the sound generated will have omnidirectional characteristics with greater pressure in the north-south direction.

  • Patent number: 4817165
Abstract: A dome-shaped acoustic motor diaphragm having a core of aluminum foil in the form of a spider web configuration resulting in the dome shape, the diaphragm being in the form of an annular semi-dome outer diaphragm part and a dome-shaped cylindrical inner diaphragm part. The spider web core also enables a wide variety of diaphragm shapes to be possible. A voice coil bobbin is passed through a lower diaphragm layer and unto the underside of an upper diaphram layer via the core which more or less is the greatest height of the same core in the region of the outer diaphragm part, thereby resulting in a highly effective bonding strength between these parts. Damping is accomplished by means of a cylindrical bellows having a height representing the maximum excursion distance of the movable parts. A bobbin guide positioned within the bobbin and bonded to the inner face of the lower magnetic pole piece prevents the bobbin and voice coil in the annular air gap from contacting the pole pieces.
