  • Patent number: 5463533
Abstract: An adjustable depth electrical enclosure is taught. Briefly stated, a load center housing has inverted T shaped slots provided along its exterior. A bracket having an adjusting screw swagged thereto is extended through the T slot so that the bracket can ride back and forth in the vertical portion of the T slot. The adjusting screw is rotatably attached to a flange on the enclosure such that rotation of the screw causes the adjusting bracket to move with respect to the front/rear direction of the enclosure. Thereafter, when the brackets are attached to wall studs, mere adjustment of the adjusting screw allows the enclosure to be moved perpendicular to the wall thereby allowing the enclosure to be accurately flush mounted with the wall material utilized.

  • Patent number: 5269710
Abstract: A lay-in lug (10) with a lug body (12) having a pair of generally parallel, opposed breaker stabs (14, 16) that are engageable in line contacts (44, 46) of a main circuit breaker (48) and securement flanges (20, 22) for attachment of the lug body to an electrical power distribution device. The lug (10) also has a lug cap (30) attachable to the lug body (12) for capture of an electrical cable (42). The lug cap (30) and lug body (12) are preferably formed by extrusion.

  • Patent number: 5081560
Abstract: A load center enclosure according to the invention has a unitary plastic frame of uniform cross-section, including a central base pan portion having projections, slots, and the like suitable for mounting bus bars, circuit breakers and neutral bars thereon. The frame also has a rear wall and a pair of opposed side walls which form part of the enclosure, the base pan portion serving as part of the rear wall of the enclosure. A pair of covers are secured to opposite ends of said frame to form top and bottom walls of said enclosure. A door assembly may then be mounted on the front of the enclosure. Such a load center enclosure utilizes an extrudable plastic frame as both a major component of the enclosure and as a base pan for mounting the current-carrying electrical components.
