Abstract: A training aid for basketball players comprises a vest worn by the player, a curved guide bar pivotally mounted on the vest by a selected one of a pair of pivot studs extending outwardly from opposite sides of the vest, an elastic sleeve worn over the elbow of the player on the same side of the player as the guide bar, and a carriage assembly which is secured to the elastic sleeve and which is guided by the guide bar to move in a curved path when the player lifts his arm to throw a basketball, the player's arm thereby being guided in a desired path for the proper throw of the basketball. The training aid is adaptable for right or left-handed players by positioning the guide bar selectively on the right or left-hand side of the player and by placing the elbow sleeve and carriage assembly on same side of the player as the guide bar.
