  • Patent number: 4339444
Abstract: Novel acyclic and heterocyclic oxime phosphate compounds have been found to exhibit insecticidal, miticidal and nematocidal activity.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 1, 1981
Date of Patent: July 13, 1982
    Assignee: Union Carbide Corporation
    Inventors: Themistocles D. J. D'Silva, Leonard E. Hodakowski
  • Patent number: 4260703
Abstract: Novel ester diol alkoxylate urethane-acrylates comprising the reaction products of an ester diol alkoxylate, such as 2,2-dimethyl-3-hydroxypropyl 2,2-dimethyl-3-hydroxypropionate, and an organic polyiosocyanate, capped by an hydroxyalkyl acrylate and curable compositions thereof.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 26, 1979
Date of Patent: April 7, 1981
    Assignee: Union Carbide Corporation
Inventors: Leonard E. Hodakowski, Joseph V. Koleske
  • Patent number: 4212899
Abstract: A process for producing a colorant containing highlighted coated substrate by embossing the surface of the substrate, coating this entire surface of the embossed substrate with a radiation curable fluid coating composition containing from about 0.01 to about 15 weight percent colorant, exposing the coated substrate to ionizing or non-ionizing radiation to initiate the desired radiation cure of the coating, continuing to irradiate the substrate until the entire coating hardens, and recovering a coated substrate on which the coating follows the embossed surface and in which the recessed areas are highlighted with the colorant.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 12, 1979
Date of Patent: July 15, 1980
    Assignee: Union Carbide Corporation
Inventors: Leonard E. Hodakowski, Richard D. Jenkinson
  • Patent number: 4131602
Abstract: Radiation curable acrylated polyurethane is porduced by (a) producing an isocyanate-terminated intermediate by coreacting an organic diisocyanate with a combination of organic tri/tetraol and organic diol, said combination being chosen from polyester tri/tetraol-polyether diol and polyether tri/tetraol-polyester diol combinations; (b) reacting the isocyanate-terminated intermediate with an hydroxyacrylate such as 2-hydroxyethyl acrylate. Unexpectedly, the oligomer has desirably low viscosity, yet cures upon exposure to radiation to a coating having good physical properties.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 29, 1977
Date of Patent: December 26, 1978
    Assignee: Union Carbide Corporation
Inventors: Leonard E. Hodakowski, Charles H. Carder
