  • Patent number: 5020634
Abstract: A work support bracket is improved by providing it with brace members having a cross sectional shape. The brace members are fixed to first and second horizontal socket members respectively such that the upper horizontal segments of the brace members extend away from one another. The lower, central regions of the vertical segments of the brace members are notched to straddle the first and second horizontal socket members respectively. The outward, central regions of the upper horizontal segments are notched to define elongated pathways extending through first and second generally vertical socket members respectively and through said notched outward central regions respectively. The lower horizontal segments of the brace members are first and second pairs of tab members which extend from opposed ends of the first and second brace members respectively.

  • Patent number: 4754841
Abstract: This invention is a simple to make, simple to use, inexpensive step for use on rectangular wooden posts, such as those used in scaffolds. This step has a u shaped body with a portion that encompasses the posts, two "grips" in this portion which bite into the wood to keep the step in place, and a part to step upon. To move this step to a desired position, the part that is stepped upon is tilted up and out from the horizontal. This motion causes the two grips to disengage from the post and to be sufficiently removed from the post to allow the step to slide freely on this post. The step is fabricated from a single sheet of metal that is cut and bent to the desired design.

  • Patent number: 4296835
Abstract: A bracket for carrying a plank by means of support legs. The bracket has a cross piece of predetermined length to carry the plank. Open faced channel members are connected at each end of the cross piece. These members extend downwardly and outwardly. The open faces of the channel members open in opposite directions and in the direction of the length of the cross piece. The channel members have internally rounded corners. A bracket sleeve is pivotally connected to each of the channel members for receiving and retaining support legs. The sleeve may be formed with, for example, teeth on one edge to engage the retained leg.

  • Patent number: 4247083
Abstract: A wall lifter able to be made to climb a column to lift a prefabricated wall into a predetermined position. The lifter comprises a first sleeve to surround the column. A saddle engages the wall. The saddle extends forwardly of the first sleeve and is mounted on the sleeve. A lever is pivotably mounted on the first sleeve adjacent the saddle. There is a fulcrum point for the first lever. A second sleeve surrounds the column and is disposed above the first sleeve when the lifter is in its useful position. There is a link between the second sleeve and the lever, pivotably connected to both. A resilient member urges the lever upwardly. The lifter is easy to use and to make and relatively cheap.

  • Patent number: 4228871
Abstract: A bracket useful to form a free standing support on legs. The bracket comprises a cross piece to carry a platform. A pathway to receive a leg is positioned at each end of the cross piece. A sleeve is pivotally mounted on the pathway and extends when the bracket is in use, around a leg. A lever extends from the sleeve to permit pivoting of the sleeve to grip a leg positioned in the pathway and to permit the bracket to move up and down the leg. The free standing feature, together with ease of adjustment represents a considerable advantage.
