  • Patent number: 6036314
Abstract: An apertured polymer button in which that portion of the button which is machined and polished to produce a contact lens contains apertures having a diameter of 5 to 8 microns to allow the passage through the finished lens of fluids containing dissolved oxygen.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 26, 1999
Date of Patent: March 14, 2000
    Inventor: Leonard G. Wolfson
  • Patent number: 5104213
Abstract: An apertured polymer button in which that portion of the button which is machined and polished to produce a contact lens contains holes having a diameter of 40 to 60 microns and allow the passage through the finished lens of fluids and/or holes having a diameter of 5 to 25 microns and allow the passage through the finished lens of gases such as oxygen and carbon dioxide but not fluids.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 10, 1990
Date of Patent: April 14, 1992
    Inventor: Leonard G. Wolfson
  • Patent number: 4122942
Abstract: A hydrophilic contact lens with at least the surfaces formed of a high molecular weight synthetic polymer, is treated by exposure to a plasma of an inert gas under near-vacuum conditions. The treated lenses are stored in aqueous solution held in a plastic storage case, at least the interior surfaces of the storage case having also been treated with the inert gas plasma to also render its interior surfaces hydrophilic.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 21, 1975
Date of Patent: October 31, 1978
    Inventor: Leonard G. Wolfson
