Abstract: An emergency transport neck immobilizing brace incorporates a frame structure adapted for mounting on the shoulders of a patient suspected of having a neck injury and securable to the body of the patient by both crotch and shoulder straps. The brace frame mounts a head halter with a two-point strap suspension arrangement and a ratchet mechanism for placing the patient's head in traction. Cushion devices are also provided to limit both forward and backward and lateral movement of the patient's head after being placed in traction.
