  • Patent number: 4560396
Abstract: A dust collector forming vertically oriented filtering panels with downward flow of dirty gases and a quiet zone below the panels for trapping particulates of dust that have been separated from the gases and passed into the quiet zone.

  • Patent number: 4452617
Abstract: A dirty gas inlet arrangement for a filter housing including an inlet housing connecting an elongated outlet in a dirty gas supply manifold to the dirty gas chamber of the filter housing. The inlet housing is provided with a downwardly sloping bottom wall causing particulate materials separating from the dirty gases to flow into the dirty gas chamber, and a damper assembly for selectively closing off the elongated outlet in the manifold to prevent dirty gases from flowing into the dirty gas chamber. The damper assembly includes a shaft rotatably supported within the inlet housing, a lever arm cantilevered from the shaft, an elongated damper blade sized to underlie the marginal edge of the outlet pivotally secured to the free end of the lever arm, and an actuating assembly for selectively rotating the shaft to lift the blade into sealing engagement with the marginal edge of the outlet and to lower the blade into an inobtrusive position adjacent to the bottom wall.

  • Patent number: 4394143
Abstract: A protective spark eliminating system for removing burning particulates from flue gases prior to introducing the gases into a filter baghouse. The protective system includes a housing enclosing a separating chamber having a gas inlet in the side of the housing for directing a stream of flue gases into the housing, and a gas outlet in the top of the housing for conducting the flue gas stream out of the chamber. To effect separation and removal of the burning particulates from the gas stream, the housing is provided with a secondary gas system which is adapted to maintain a downwardly flowing curtain of gas across the width of the flue gas inlet to direct the burning particulates in the flue gases downwardly into a hopper at the base of the housing as the flue gases enter the chamber.

  • Patent number: 4338105
Abstract: A bearing assembly for supporting one end of a shaker shaft from which a plurality of filter bags are suspended in a baghouse. The bearing assembly includes a stationary bracket mounted within the gas cleaning chamber of the baghouse, a supporting member having an upwardly extending knife-edge portion generally aligned with the longitudinal axis of the shaft and pivotally connected to the bracket for movement about a horizontal axis extending perpendicular to the axis of the shaft, and a shaft supporting block affixed to the end of the shaft having an inverted V-shaped notch sized to be received on the knife-edge portion to support the shaft in a manner accommodating axial and angular displacement of the shaft with respect to the stationary bracket of the bearing assembly.

  • Patent number: 4306896
Abstract: A filter anchoring arrangement for securing the dependent ends of a row of filter bags suspended from a common filter supporting plate in a bag house. The anchoring arrangement includes a gathering member and a retaining member cooperating with the gathering member to align and retain a docking pin projecting from the dependent end of each bag upon rotation of the gathering and retaining members into a bag-anchoring position.

  • Patent number: 4003727
Abstract: An improved arrangement for releasably connecting an end of a tubular gas filter bag to an aperture in an apertured plenum chamber plate member including a mounting member mounted in the aperture in the plate member for releasable engagement with the end of the bag. The mounting member includes an inwardly extending ledge located between an outwardly extending flange which engages the end of the bag and an inwardly extending seat which rests upon the periphery of the aperture. The ledge enables easy mounting of the bag end, which contains an expansible slip ring, over the flange.
