Patent number: 10850181Abstract: A batting glove (10) has a cover member (12) defining a central opening and a plurality of finger elements (20) including a forefinger element (24) and a thumb element (22). The batting glove (10) has a web member (14) generally positioned between the finger element (20) and the thumb element (22). The web member (14) minimizes force against a thenar region of a wearer's hand from a bat in response to hitting a ball with the bat.Type: GrantFiled: January 4, 2016Date of Patent: December 1, 2020Assignee: Jax Athletics, LLCInventors: Jason T. Patent number: 9630120Abstract: A toy or game with an illuminable transparent or translucent tube has a moveable part in the tube and a power source adjacent an end of the tube for selectively controllable movement of the part. The part may be a moveable light source or a separate stationary light source may be adjacent one end of the tube with the moveable part blocking light from the light source. The power source and the light source may be adjacent the same end of the tube or may be adjacent opposed ends. The power source may be an elastic element or compressed gas. Air flow through the blower is adjusted by user manipulable controls.Type: GrantFiled: July 12, 2014Date of Patent: April 25, 2017Inventor: Leonard J. Stubenfoll

Patent number: 8512092Abstract: A method of attaching a piece having an opening onto a part in a toy system by positioning the part adjacent the opening, pushing on the part inserting it into the opening, and releasing the part allowing the piece to be picked up by and retained on the part. In a toy system in which the part is an upper one of two generally elongated parts, the other being a lower part, that telescope axially against a bias, the biased apart parts are positioned adjacent the opening with the lower part proximate and pointed toward the opening and the upper part away from the opening. Pushing on the upper part telescopes it against the bias over the lower part and inserts the upper part into the opening. Releasing the parts allows the bias to move the parts apart with the piece picked up by and retained on the upper part.Type: GrantFiled: August 31, 2011Date of Patent: August 20, 2013Inventor: Leonard J. Patent number: 8033892Abstract: A toy system with a body part insertable into an opening substantially defined by a separate band, retains the band to accessorize playthings by pushing them into a separate piece bearing accessories on the outer surface. Retention is by frictional or magnetic engagement. For frictional engagement, resilient material is used. A separation in the band allows it to spread apart; a coupling may limit the extent of separation. Geometric shapes of the part and opening may be substantially the same or different, as long as there are at least two points of contact for frictional engagement. A second part fits into the opening without engaging the piece and telescopes against a spring into the part engaging the piece. Removal is facilitated by a component that receives the second part, but not the part engaging the piece. Chamfers on the part inserted into the opening and/or on the opening facilitate insertion.Type: GrantFiled: December 31, 2007Date of Patent: October 11, 2011Assignee: Fertig Stubeufoll Design Group L.L.C.Inventor: Leonard J. Publication number: 20110086573Abstract: A toy system with a body part insertable into a self-supported opening in a separate plastic piece self-supportable on a surface. The part frictionally engaging the piece with a protrusion projecting from one of the part or piece. Another part fits into the opening without engaging the piece and telescopes against a spring into the part engaging and picking up the piece upon release of the spring. An audible sound is produced upon inserting the part, releasing the spring, or both. Attaching the piece onto the part is done by placing the piece on a surface, positioning the biased parts over the opening with the lower proximate and pointed toward the opening, pushing down on the upper telescoping it over the lower and inserting the upper into the opening, then releasing the bias to move the two parts apart with the piece picked up by and retained on the upper.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 6, 2010Publication date: April 14, 2011Inventors: Leonard J. Stubenfoll, John K. Fertig

Patent number: 7264534Abstract: Toys for infants in the form of soothers, mobiles, swings, and gyms are provided with a housing, at least one character carried by the housing for movement relative to the housing, the at least one character having a body and at least one appendage that is carried by the body for movement relative to the body, a drive assembly carried by the housing to simultaneously drive the body of the at least one character to move relative to the housing and drive the at least one appendage to move relative to the body.Type: GrantFiled: December 30, 2004Date of Patent: September 4, 2007Assignee: Fertig Stubenfoll Design Group, L.L.C.Inventor: Leonard J. Patent number: 4717367Abstract: A toy vehicle having a front to back dimension includes a body with a forward end and a rearward end. The body carries an extendable tail section adjacent the rearward end for extension from a retracted position adjacent the rearward end to an extended position for increasing the front to back dimension of the vehicle. When the vehicle encounters a change in the angle of the playing surface or a force is otherwise exerted on the distal portion of the extendable section, a motor driven gear engages a rack and drives the extendable section away from the body of the vehicle.Type: GrantFiled: January 21, 1986Date of Patent: January 5, 1988Assignee: Marvin Glass & AssociatesInventors: Leonard J. Patent number: 4710146Abstract: Projectile propelling attachments are provided for toy figures that have an arm connected at the shoulder end for pivotal movement relative to the torso through approximately ninety degrees. The attachments include an apparatus releasably mountable on the figure in engagement with the arm. A front end bore receives a projectile from which a tether extends out the back end of the apparatus through a smaller diameter bore. In the larger diameter bore there is a coil compression spring. At the free end of the tether a retainer prevents the tether passing back through the apparatus. In one form, the back end of the tether is attached to a reel carried on the back of the figure. Pulling on the tether pivots the arm to the firing position and then compresses the spring. When the tether is released, the spring propels the projectile.Type: GrantFiled: February 6, 1986Date of Patent: December 1, 1987Assignee: Marvin Glass & AssociatesInventors: Russell G.
