  • Patent number: 6308869
Abstract: A keg for dispensing beer or other liquids under pressure is provided with a neckless spear arrangement. The spear comprises a body intended to be welded permanently to the keg with all parts of the spear assembled through that body. When so assembled escape is prevented so that in the event of interference by any unqualified person there is no risk of the spear being ejected as a missile.

  • Patent number: 6087606
Abstract: A waterproof switch has a single contact arranged in a sealed housing, with an actuator arm protruding from one end and electrical terminals protruding from an opposite end. The single contact is arranged close to a metal portion that is moved by the actuator into mechanical and electrical contact with the single contact. The sealed housing is formed of two pieces that are attached by a heat activated adhesive. The switch can be assembled by forming the metal switch parts on a long strip and subsequently, following the assembly of the housing, the small metal portions joining the switch parts are sheared away.

  • Patent number: 6081759
Abstract: A sensor of Giant magneto-resistive (GMR) type is attached to a seat belt anchor bracket. A seat belt passes through an opening in the bracket and is doubled back and sewn to form a loop. A magnet positioned on a sliding carriage is biased away from the sensor by springs. A seat belt loops around the carriage, and when tension is applied to the belt, the carriage with the magnet is drawn against the springs toward the GMR sensor. The GMR sensor measures the magnetic field present at the sensor and a microprocessor determines belt tension based on the known spring constants and the strength of measured magnetic field which is correlated with displacement of the magnet.

  • Patent number: 5845730
Abstract: An electro-mechanical accelerometer is disclosed for use in a vehicle to selectively actuate a vehicular safety device such as, for example, an airbag when a deceleration force greater than a predetermined threshold level is sensed.

  • Patent number: 5538011
Abstract: A chair aid comprising a pair of back beams and a pair of soar supports rotatably attached to a pair of seat beams, a seat with a seat cutout attached to the pair of seat beams and a back attached to the pair of back beams. A pair of leg supports is slidably and rotatably attached to the seat. A head rest is slidably attached to the back. The angle between the pair of seat beams and the pair of seat supports may be fixed by means of leg straps attached the pair of seat beams and the pair of seat supports, the length of the leg straps being variable by means of leg strap holes and leg strap buckles. The angle between the pair of back beams and the pair of seat beams may be fixed by means of a pair of back supports rotatably attached to the pair of seat beams, a dowel attached to the pair of back supports, and at least one notch board comprising notches attached to the seat, the notches being sized to frictionally admit the dowel.
