  • Publication number: 20030095990
Abstract: The invention relates to microemulsion comprising oils having defined cleansing and spreadability and providing superior cleansing, mildness, and good feel relative to conventional, non-microemulsion products.
    Type: Application
    Filed: June 19, 2001
    Publication date: May 22, 2003

  • Patent number: 6524242
Abstract: The invention provides a non-contact (non-invasive) method for measuring quantity of sebum oil on skin or other substrate. The method includes applying fluorescent lipophilic dye to the substrate site of interest, illuminating the site at the excitation wavelength of the dye, and collecting fluorescent emission of desired wavelength of the dye. Because the measurements are truly non-contact, they can be made in real time on the same sites for any desired length of time.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 19, 2001
Date of Patent: February 25, 2003
Assignee: Unilever Home & Personal Care USA, division of Conopco, Inc.

  • Patent number: 6475144
Abstract: The invention provides a non-contact process for measuring amount of sebum or oil on skin or other substrate. Process is preferably done in vivo because of ability to measure formation of sebum/oil on skin in real time.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 19, 2001
Date of Patent: November 5, 2002
Assignee: Unilever Home & Personal Care USA, division of Conopco, Inc.

  • Patent number: 5731277
Abstract: A composition and method for inhibiting the extraction of transition metals from tableware washed in automatic dishwashers is described. The composition contains an aluminum species in which substantially all of the aluminum (III) ions are present as aluminum tetrahydroxide. A bleaching agent, a builder and optionally a surfactant and a silicate are present. The composition has a pH of less than about 10. A process for preparing the composition is also described.
