  • Patent number: 10633767
Abstract: A cord including multifilament para-aramid yarn comprising filaments, wherein the filaments have a non-round cross section having a smaller and a larger dimension, where the cross-sectional aspect ratio between the larger and the smaller dimension is 1.5-10 and the smaller dimension of the cross section has a maximum of 50 ?m and wherein the para-aramid has at least 90% para bonds between the aromatic moieties. The cords have excellent fatigue properties.

  • Patent number: 8871124
Abstract: A method for producing a filament yarn from a para-aromatic polyamide, having an optically anisotropic aramid spinning solution filtered within a spinneret arrangement by using a filter having passage openings and extruded within the spinneret arrangement through a plurality of spinning orifices. The extruded anisotropic aramid spinning solution is guided via an air gap, stretched in the process, and collected in an aqueous coagulation bath. The optically anisotropic aramid spinning solution in the spinneret arrangement is fed to the spinning orifices via a flow resistor. The flow resistor is arranged closer to the spinning orifices than the filter, and the flow resistor and the filter are arranged at a distance to one another. The method may also include a para-aromatic polyamide filament yarn.

  • Patent number: 6242095
Abstract: Core-sheath fibers are useful as textile reinforcing materials in rubber items having rubber adhesion of 180 to 260 N/2 cm. The fiber core is a high-melting (co)polyester and the sheath is a high-melting unsaturated copolyester. The high-melting unsaturated copolyester is made from at least one unsaturated dicarboxylic acid coconstituent, which contains at least 2 mole-%, based on dicarboxylic acid components, of alkylmaleic acid, having a 1 to 18 carbon atom alkyl group; alkylenesuccinic acid having a 1 to 18 carbon atom alkylene group; or their polyester-forming derivatives.
